I haven't had much problem with asking refund. If it was under 1000 and I couldn't see they purchased it I probably wouldn't. However did have one time when a bigger buyer (bought close to 100 items) accidentally purchased two of two items they sent me a polite email asking if I would take them back as they only meant to purchase one. I had no problem doing it as I can imagine how that could easily happen. If the refund makes since I would do it as long as they are polite in asking.
When I read the title of the thread I knew what my answer was right away... "Nope!! I don't refund". Then as I was reading Dmitri's post I kinda felt bad for the girl and was going to change my mind about my policy. By the time I got finished reading I reverted to my original answer..... "Nope!!!"

I dont refund-I exchange. Seeing as I sell notebooks in my book shop (I stock school items aswell) sometimes people buy them thinking they are readable. I tell them they can have books to the value of the thing they want to exchange. You can tell I work in retail!
What a clever idea, bexbex. :)
I think it was really sweet of Dmitri to offer the refund, even if it ended up backfiring. Like was said, a lot of these are tiny kids that just don't have any brains yet. That can make any transaction with them difficult. *rolls eyes*
I don't mind at all giving refunds, as long as it is a situation (like this one) that seems truly innocent. I would never give a refund to a person taking advantage, however. If they came back for a second refund or something like others here described, I would just tell them right out that I can't do it more than once because there is too much risk of abuse. I've never been asked to refund on a snipe, but if I did get asked, I'd probably say no because snipes are a part of life, both coming and going. I've made a few huge pricing mistakes, myself, and I never asked the buyer to compensate for it. I think that would just be tacky. :P

Lol how kind old man ;) Yeah, I wouldn't refund, but that's usually not a problem since books only have one purpose and are used that way, though I do have to get better organized to be able to hold up a spot in a mall.

I mean I would refund but if people are going to be rude about it I dont know. I dont usually do but if I know you pretty well and you make a mistake sure of course.
I can honestly say that no one has asked for a refund. Prices are too cheap for that in my store.
Books! Reasonable Prices!!

I have done it on a few occasions but they have been users that have bought from my shop before and bought something they already had. One time they sent it back to me and I sent them an item of equal value they didn't have. They also returned and bought more so if someone is a regular then yes I will
