Nooo they don't all bite. They just need to be well tamed (and be male). I had a female hamster once and she was one evil bitch, used to rip my fingers to shreds.
I snorted and the dog started barking, thinking someone was outside *lol* Anyway, I was in Petco a couple months ago and I REALLY wanted the dwarf hamster. Cutest thing on four feet. And to explain myself, we skinned the cat and poked around with it's muscles today in Anatomy and Physiology. Really reinforces the phrase "More than one way to skin the cat..."

i mean i have i'm only 15 so i cant have my own pet like cat or dog, we had two dogs and a cat but they passed away two-one year ago (one right after the other in a couple of months) :'( depressing, and when i was little i had a pet tortiose from my dads pet shop but i was too young to have one didnt take care of it and it ended up dieing :'( i feel bad, and my sis had two birds but they got sick. and i had a turtle but my dad killed it, he moved the rocks in my turtle tank and my turtle pushed one and it fell ontop of him and he drowned :( but now i have a pet turtle named spark. i got him when he was the size of a quarter and now hes bigger then my hand! :D succes finally!

Pet Killer *unsure* Actually, I'm no better myself *lol* I have had so many fish die. I really don't know why they died though. I fed them and cleaned their tank. Then I found that they lived longer if I didn't clean the water. I just fill it back up when some evaporates and change out the green gooey filter about every 6 months. All other pets have either died of old age or heart worms. Now we are down to 3 dogs, 2 cats, 6 horses, 1 turtle, 2 crawfish, and about 15 fish. Whether the opossum that comes around every now and then is a pet is debatable. He eats the cat food so we call him possum kitty :D.

Mm, we had a suicidal fish... he jumped out of the tank a lot. Then one time he got out while we were on vacation... we found him in the magazine rack, semi-mumified weeks later... ------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~ Come visit my map shop ~~

I have a fricken zoo. One dog, one cat, a ferret, and a leopard gecko. Finally got rid of the two nasty gold fish and put them in someones pond. I hated cleaning that tank.

The research says that each goldfish needs 10 gallons of water to live...that seems like a lot more than what most people have! Also, she just turned 11 so would fish be too much with the tank cleaning, etc.? I know she can feed them but it's the other responsibilities I am worried about...filling the tank with more water, checking the filter, cleaning the tank, rocks, plants, filter hose, etc. We don't have room for a 10 gal. tank atm so would a 5 gal. tank work with one goldfish or a really small coldwater fish? ~ Mimi ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ Mimi's Ménagerie ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc

They are feces machines and produce a lot of ammonia to cloud the water if not filtered properly. I had two in a 10 gal and they grew to 6 inches each, but the poor things didnt have enough room to barely swim.. it was more like a slow drift across the tank. For a 5 gallon a beta would be great, but wanting more than one.. maybe some tetras or mollys? You could probably have 3 of them in there just fine. They may be a little cleaner of a fish too. Odd are you would have to help her with the rocks and all that. I had a rock vacuum hose, but that might be over kill for a 5 gallon depending on its width. But they are nifty. They attach to the faucet and can be used to clean the rocks or just change out some of the water.

10 gals per fish is insane, no you dont need that much :P One Inch Per Gallon is a general rule, but remember that the fish will grow http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/beginnerinfo/a/fishcalc.htm I have like 100 fish or something insane @_@. We had 12 goldfish and 2 kois in my pond, and they all had babies this summer and now its insane in there! They better not have babies again next year! :P
