I don't like McDonald's anyways; it's just gross. I probably eat fast food more than I should (like Arby's and Chick-Fil-A mostly as they are right near my school), but I do exercise (I need to do that more though - I've been slacking lately *unsure*) and take a vitamin each day.
Actually, sometimes when I'm really hungry, I crave greasy food like Mcdonalds. :P
I eat a lot. A lot. I usually try to eat less in front of other people though. It's just so embarrassing... D: I'm still on the thin side though... just under 100 pounds at 5'4. I think it's because I do sports, so I burn off a lot of what I eat.
Yeah I remember watching Supersize me a few years ago. It was interesting, but didn't really change my eating habits. I try to eat healthy (keyword: try), but sometimes I can't control myself. Junk food just tastes better than healthy food (not to mention its much more convenient). :P
I rarely eat at Mcdonalds though. My mom makes most of my meals, and she makes pretty good food. :)
Well, i wouldn't be surprised to hear people eat at Mcdonalds 3 times a day. I mean, it's cheap and convenient. Not everyone has the time to make food. Or they are just lazy people.
angel_shortcake: Wow. you're very well informed on nutrition ! :o

The title makes me want to eat Mcdonalds. HAHA.
I saw the movie but it didn't really affect me. But I'm not much of a Mcdonalds eater. Last time I ate Mcdonalds maybe was 3-6 months ago.

I do need to exercise. I usually sit around the house all day if I'm not at school. Even at school I just sit all day. Lately I've had to work and it's been a pain. My shoulders hurt so much :( I'm a Biology major myself. I'm not taking nutrition though. I took Anatomy and Physiology and we were the nutrition students' guinea pigs *complain*
Ah, so many points that I can make but I will retain myself. I've never seen the movie, but I get the gist of what it's about.
James: It's not about the body fat and maintaining your body weight. Fat also can build up in your organs which could lead to organ failure, and can build up in your blood vessels/veins and lead to hypertension (high blood pressure) and heart failure. You really have to watch what you eat.
That being said, I saw an episode of "The Doctors" the other night and someone asked if it was ok to eliminate fat. They answered that pregnant people need it and they made another point. They could have answered it so much better:
You NEED fat in your died. 30% of your calories should come from fat. Yes, there are different types of fat - you want to stay away from the bad ones and eat the good. What people don't realize is that if you reduce the fat intake much under that 30% requirement, your body won't have fat to use for energy and it will go after other sources.
The vegan comment: You have to be careful if you're a vegetarian or vegan because your body still needs the requirements from those foods. Especially when you're a vegan - you can easily be deficient in B12, calcium and other vitamins that are highly concentrated in meat and animal products. Supplements are ok, but they shouldn't be used instead of food because it isn't as available (your body can't use it as easily).
Sorry for the rant....
Also to the 110lb comment: I hope you exercise too. Just because you're small doesn't mean you're healthy. I'm 110lbs, and I also feel too skinny, but my percent boody fat is above normal. Plus fat can build up in places that you didn't know exist - between and in your organ - and a little bit of exercise can reduce your risks of many things such as diabetes, cancer, and other chronic diseases!! (I definitely don't practice what I preach, but I keep telling myself I'm going to. And I'm going to start exercising after exams are over and I get a chance to relax).
PS: I'm a biochemistry (nutrition) major. I tried to stay away from big words so that everyone can understand. But if you want clarification feel free to reply or PM me. :)
Yea, I try to make sure I keep a good balance of everything in my diet.
I get the b12 comment a lot, but I get half the RDA of b12 in each serving of Silk, so I know I get enough.
I do take vitamins, but I try not to have to rely on them.
On a somewhat more random note, I want to major in biochemistry! I'm only a sophomore in high school, though.
Lol my BMI is something like 16, below the idea of "Underweight"
Ima go check that now (Rough online estimate)

Saw movie, not impressed. Who eats only at Mc? If you did, they have salads and other healthier foods on their menu that you could choose from. Just not realistic unless you really want to kill yourself.
