Advice on shop layout

Advice on shop layout
I just made the jump to Main Market. Here, banners, to get people to visit your shop from your hut, are a lot more important. This is why I want to ask you to review my shop and tell me how I can improve my layout. To view my current layout visit: http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=p45soa&misc My current layout looks like this: -2 links to my shop catalogues (linked with tekst) *line for new category* -1 Big Shop Banner -1 Mall Banner -1 Small shop Banner (bookmark/find item) *line for new category* -Item of the week banner (If you click it, the item will show up) -Neomallers counter -Page links I don't want to get too many shop banners, because that's simply annoying for my costumers. On the other hand, I do want a banner which states that I sell all the water faerie quest items. Maybe I should change the big shop banner to a banner which is in the style of my mall banner and which contains a note for water faerie quest items. But then, should I change the links to my catalogues? Since they are on top, they may bring to many people from my hut to my catalogues instead of to my shop. But then again, is this a bad thing? Maybe I should put them next to the small banner below my mall banner?

[center] Advice from a dial up user (can be good advice for user's with slow connections also), it kinda takes a long time to load.. You have to note that on the huts page there are a lot of banners also, but for me, a long time. Yeah, save the top banner at 67% JPEG quality and ditto for the mall banner. And you should remove the (hr) things, it's doesn't look that good.. I think it would look better if you made the banner thats above your mall banner the same width. Personal preference though :) Oh, and I'm not on dial up and it took a long time to load over here too. I suggest going with Dmitri's suggestion, you won't really notice a difference in quality at all.

The shop banner doesn't really fit with the mall banner. I will try to have a new and better banner soon. I didn't think it was very unorganized though. I first had the catalogs section devided by hr. Then the shop/mall banners section, hr again. Then the specific shop section with the item of the day, counter and shop links. Also if you click on a banner or the shop links, you will skip all banners and go right to the items in my shop. I fear if I put an image of the item of the day under the item-of-the-day-banner it would look a bit messy. Maybe I should try change the links to the shop catalogs. Make them better looking and put them under the banners. Now they seems noticable and they look rather good on top (imo). Although at this moment I fear they will take some costumers away who want to go to my shop instead of to my catalogs. The way you (soldier) put them at the bottom (on your scetch) may be a lot better indeed. Although then I fear people won't notice I have shop catalogs... Thank you a lot for the idea to save the banners in jpg. I don't think it would lose a lot of the quality, and if my shop would load faster, that would be great! *edit* I've changed the mall banner in the jpg extention. The pages loads a lot faster now!
