Heh, I didn't post profits either, but I thought it would be rude to do so :) The days I posted had profits ranging from 17.61% (the day with 15 sales), and 422.7% (the day with 9). As I said before, RS sales can really throw the numbers off. On regular items I may make 10-40%, but RSs really jack the number up! Also, there is a point when you DON"T want more sales anyway, and I already hit that. I had a couple days at 144 hits, with a lot of SW priced sales, and I just couldn't keep up restocking. Everyone needs to find their own sweet spot when it comes to that. edit: Today I have _85_ hits already, and only 28 sales. I've had a few strange days like that. Today the bulk is from SW (71), where some days I've had 40-50 'other' hits, and almost no sales from the additional traffic. Always makes me curious as to what is really going on (large malls RS'ing and 'marking' my shop on each search, but getting the book cheaper elsewhere? some other strange occurrences?) So, yea, hits on their own mean very little, but are useful to watch trends, see if your NB ads are generating traffic, etc etc.
I only singled Chad out because i've seen him post his sales many many times, but when he sold food most of his stock was wiz priced or close, so of course he has high tills :P Bugs me the way he does it as if the sales themselves are something to be proud of. As I said, anyone can wiz price stuff. I must say I admire anyone who can make serious nps from malling while wiz pricing. It's a heck of a lot of work. Thats not my moan either, i'm just merely saying, posting sales as a point verses hits means nothing if they are mainly wiz sales. ___________ Kirsty aka "the sensitive one" Silverdragon siggy stealer Tasty tent seller

Kirsty, I wiz price to actually sell items. If I overprice by even 1 np, no one buys from me. Also, I can't figure out the portal and don't have all the time in the world with my job and my kids to go one by one and input everything I have into said portal. -i'm just merely saying, posting sales as a point verses hits means nothing if they are mainly wiz sales.- Which is exactly the point that this thread started out with in a way anyway, so it's a very relevant point to make! When I pulled 144 hits a few days in a row, it was because I was SW pricing a lot. Lots of hits, lots of sales, very little profit (7-11%). Making 8% on 1,500NP items just doesn't cut it when you spend hours restocking them, you'll make more playing a few games easier and faster. But malling isn't about profit, it's about socializing anyway :) -Also, I can't figure out the portal and don't have all the time in the world with my job and my kids to go one by one and input everything I have into said portal.- As a book store, with lots of unique stock (Items stocked: 1487, 0.2 stocked for each unique item, on average), I could never manage my shop WITHOUT portal, or some other thing like a complex excel spreadsheet or something. Some stores have it easier (Maps and Training), others (food) don't.

Zix, I am running a bookshop now and THANK GOD for OpenOffice and JellyNeo. Otherwise, I'd be screwed. Barnes & Neobles http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=desperately_yours&misc

I can never handle a huge category like food or books. I'm very happy to only have to wiz about a dozen out of stock items every other day. I don't understand how people can do it without SSW. :O Petpet Paradise http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=mizleah

I do books and I think almost all of my books are at least 300-500 NP overpriced when they're cheaper and then the more expensive ones are overpriced by 1-3k. There are some that are more category priced which helps sales cause they'll buy one, then buya ton, bookmark, and come back. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=evilbluemunkeyz

well i use the reg. sw and it takes some time but that still wasnt my point. I dont track my sales on neomallers as some days i have so much to do i forget to copy and paste them (thats using lite) i havent tried the pro addition. I think what I really want to know is compaired to everyone else out there am i doing ok as far as selling in a mall. my shop size is now 350 and i am fully stocked i average about 200 - 300k in sales a day although my hits average is 87. and what can i do to well sell more.

To me it looks like you're doing just fine :) What's the profit on that 200-300K? You have a higher average hit count than me, but I don't like my number of sales to be TOO high, too much time to restock then. -and what can i do to well sell more- Lower prices, you sell more. You make less per sale and spend more time restocking. Raise prices, you sell less. You make more per sale and spend less time restocking. Now, do you want to "sell more", or do you want to "make more profit", which are 2 different questions (although #1 can lead to #2). But at this point I believe you've broken your question down to "Other than chat and support for Portal, what are these forms for?" :) Time to start reading lots of threads! Good luck!

maybe on the support for portal but i dont use it. as for your questions: I sell wearable items. my profit is usually 100-300 per item sold. of course there is the occasional snipe item that i resell at a great price. my rs time is about an hour which is ok. so i guess i just keep at it
