Anyone know of a good host?
Renewal for this site is coming up and it would be nice if I could move somewhere else since the owner of the server is.. err living somewhere... yeah and could easily walk away with the $$$ I already tried the following and they suck: Dreamhost Hostmonster Dot5hosting Some details of this site: Uses about 200GB (200,000 MB of bandwidth per month) 400MB of storage space -must have support for MySQL databases and php scripts Most of those cheap $4.95 per month hosting plans probably wont work here

Just looked into it and it's one of those too-good-to-be-true ones. Unlimited everything for 3.95 per month? Yeah right lol :P

For now, it costs about that. I also have the domain name registered someplace else so that's extra too. Usually I can get it free with my hosting plan but I dont trust this host at all so I didnt bother transferring it over to claim the free offer. But to be honest, at the rate the site is growing, i'll need a "Virtual Private Server plan" soon and those cost $40+ per month. Boingdragon, for example, (which uses a more simpler counter system i think) uses a dedicated server that costs $1500 per year

Try godaddy, I've always found them reasonable, and very reliable. Might pay a little more, but ya know they aren't going anywhere :P

Have you looked at bluehost.com. That is the server we use for our guild's webbie. Never had any major problems with it and they offer several plans to choice from. The few issues we have had with it (it has been awhile) one call and they were fixed pretty quickly. Hope this helps.
