Jobs eventually get boring?
I'm a year away from entering post-secondary. To me, it's important to choose the right path. My friend keeps saying that whatever job you have, you'll eventually get bored of it, that's why you should go for the money. 1. I love money, but money isn't everything. 2. I COMPLETELY DISAGREE with his statement about jobs eventually getting boring. I don't know why though and so I don't have reasons to back up my opinion. I think if someone truly enjoys a job they will never be bored. I don't know why my opinion is tilted this way, and I don't know why my friend thinks the opposite. Someone care to give an opinion on this subject matter? Do all jobs eventually get boring?.. or whatever you guys want to talk about. I was just pondering that thought.

No. Not unless you really enjoy the job. Aka part of this "enjoyment" should source from the fact that you are actually making a difference. If that isnt the case, then yeah, it might eventually get boring. ----------------------------- Contrary to popular belief, the Irish and I are not married

~ May ~ "normal" jobs do get boring. As in, if you don't really care about what you're doing, then yes. If you REALLY love what you're doing then your COMPANY might get boring to you, but if you manage to keep on rising on your carreer, then I don't think so. I've been on the same company for almost a year and I won't get bored for a long time, I can feel it :P Cause I love what I do - and gee, I do it for love indeed cause money... I barely see that one

Wow what a loaded question! I think that yes most people get bored with their job. And to make it worse they are the worst ones to work with. They complain all day long instead of doing their job. A lot of people believe it or not, do take jobs that they are not happy with. They even make a career out of it. In the long run you are at your job more than you are at home so wouldn't being happy be an important choice? The decision money or happy depends on the person. There are many people out there that make the decision money. This is enough to keep them highly motivated but motivated is not the same as happy for some. Some people also have to make the decision money out of necessity. They have a family to support and money is what pays the bills. So this feeds into the money option quite a bit. I have found that most large companies rarely can recognize individuals as their are too many employees to do this. I worked for a large pharmaceutical for a while. Never again will I work for corporate America. Mine as well have been a robot. Punch a time card in and out every day:( They don't know your name or your kids names. Didn't even feel like a person while at work, just a number. That got boring real fast. So I have chosen to work for smaller mom and pop type companies. Usually around 30 to 50 employees. These smaller companies recognize each individual worker. While the pay and benefits make be less, the feeling of accomplishment and doing a great job and getting recognized for it are very rewarding. Over the years, for me, it does come down to money does not make people happy, however, I do have a spouse that also works and provides for the family so I do have the luxury of that decision. I think more when you get a job, no matter what it is, be good at it! Enjoy it! Make a difference! If you are lucky, you will find a job that makes you happy and pays you great money for it!!!!
