Stock question for Sweets & Bakery category
I'm about to pick up Sweets & Bakery as a category and while I empty my current stock, I'd like to plan ahead as to what I'll be buying, mostly so I know which Gourmet foods I can get. Of course, everything falling under baked and candy belongs to my category but what about baked goods and sweets not listed as such? For example, there are cakes and pies listed as healthy food... yet technically they're baked goods regardless. Then there's ice cream from the snow food shop or just the regular food shop, are these considered sweets or just plain food? I tried looking at other Bakery & Sweets shops but none of them seem to agree as to what they can and cannot stock. So I ask you, current or former Sweets & Bakery store keepers, what were you stocking your shop with? How do you draw the line between what belongs to your category and what doesn't? Thanks for reading =)

If I were you I'd talk it over with whomever the Food person is in the mall you are in (if any) and figure out boundaries with them. Some people/malls do it differently. When I personally ran a Sweets shop (this is independently though), I did any and every thing sweet. I didn't do bakery items that weren't sweet (like bread and sandwiches), although I've seen successful shops do that before. Good luck with the new category! (:

Contacting the Food store owner is a lovely idea, I'll be doing just that! Thanks for your input, much appreciated ^.^ ..::Cerbie's Collectables::.. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=cerberus_neo

I agree with heartlessness_, contact the current food vendor, and if that fails I'd contact the manager. Being the manager of my own mall and doing the food category has it's benefits, but my Bakery/Sweets person and I have pretty much understood as long as we don't start filling up our whole shops with each others categories, some bakery items in my food shop, and some food items in her bakery shop is perfectly fine by me. =) But it's up to each individual, and failing contacting the food vendor, I would contact the manager, as when I did grooming/wearables the bakery vendor at the time contacted me to figure out what she could and couldn't stock. *** www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of Rainbow Fields Mall! /~Fiylayla - Join today!
