i think you should add a feature on the sales tracker where you can see how you are doing in a few categories ( avg NP sales per day, overall NP sales, total number of sales per day and any other you guys think of) compared to others in maybe a high-score style list. it would probably be best to have 100-150 per page so it doesn't take ages to load.

Hmm it's a good idea and I actually thought of that in the development process (and even add an option to hide your account from the list) but unfortunately I think this will introduce too much competition and people will begin moving away from their strategies just to climb the high score list. And it's pretty easy to cheat

A possible alternative would be to strip the owners and just display averages. However, I'm not sure how our users will take to their data being used in this manner so I'm not sure. Also, our database currently isn't set up to analyze a bunch of user data at once in order to increase performance

The Top Shops counter was a good example of this where a select few were triggering the anti-cheat panel by doing all kinds of fishy stuff to falsely inflate the hits. Obviously, no accounts were disabled but rather plugged that method as much as I could.

As for the competition, i would think it would be eliminated if you took out the names as you said and i think it would be more of an encouragement or motivation type thing if not just for people who like statistics. And what type of DB do you use? SQL is one of the most reliable DBs in things such as anti-cheats and overloads and is very secure. im not sure if it is good at analyzing things but it is very good at compiling given information. it is also very group-use friendly for teams of large developers. If you are interested just give me shout cause i used to use SQL DB to run a WoW private server and i loved it.

Yeah we use MySQL on top of a Apache2 install. Our SQL setup is pretty secure and I've changed the ports around, moved things around and did a few other things to harden it. However, the thing is, it's easy to cheat sales by submitting the same sales more than once. But yeah, the anon approach will help. It's also more of a logistics problem though. I know some people wait a few days before submitting their sales or partially submit them and all of this can cause problems in the data being sorted.
