How to track maps?

So I'm stocking my new category which includes Maps, but the X2 portal does not have a way to list separate different map pieces that have the same name. For items like this, it would be nice if I could track with the name of the item and the price.

For example, I have all 9 Spooky Map pieces, priced at 1011, 1012, 1013, 1014, 1015, 1016, 1017, 1018, 1019. It would be nice if I could add all 9 of these to my item database so I can actually keep track of the stock of them (could make the different items based on price instead of just item name).

Right now I can track prices/stock on everything except these map pieces sad.

Hi!

What some people have done is to add the piece number at the end of the name
I.e. Secret Laboratory Map9

and make the price end in that piece#
i.e. Cost: 32,009 NP

When pasting in the sales history, manually add the number to the name based on the price of the item sold

It's a nasty workaround for the time being...but it's been on my todo list for a while angel
It was actually set up in the classic version of Portal but never made it to final release due to nasty bugs

It however, should be fairly straightforward on the X2 platform (since i actually coded this version properly tongue) so maybe it'll be a december project

Thanks.

I'm curious how that work around works when syncing the shop front though. When syncing the shop front, it asks every time if you want to added the new maps since the names from the shop front don't match teh database.

If I add the numbers there and click to add them, will it throw an error since they already exist?

If I say not to add them, it's going to completely remove the stock of the ones that are still in the shop since it doesn't see them with the numbers added.

You'll have to also add the numbers in manually in the shop front copy-paste stage but before you actually hit submit. Unfortunately, this can get tedious as there's 9x4 = 36 or so.

That being said, i think many map dealers just skip the whole shop front sync portion

If i remember correct, X2 should automatically reduce stock as it is pasted through the sales history. All you have to do is to make sure your In stock values are up to date while you restock/replenish any missing items.

once I'm not so busy with exams, i'll drop in the code. Don't think it'll take too much work as the code behind X2 is setup up quite nicely. And commented angel

Unlike Portal classic which is basically code hell...

Figured that out right after I asked about it.

Thanks for responding so quickly by the way, and really looking forward to any updated that come when you get the chance!

I've got a lot of items for less than 1000np, so in order to keep up with those I pretty much have to use the Shop Front Sync. The workaround works for now though, not too bad happy.
