Spooky Market to Mystery Island - is it worth it?

I need your advice. I just took a big profit in the stock market and wondered if it is really worth it to upgrade from Spooky Marketplace to Mystery Island Huts? Right now, I'm the very top shop in my hut (Spooky Marketplace, #380 - bottom right corner, 3rd tomb from the right). To upgrade to the top of the lowest Marketplace shop would cost me about 3.3 million np. (from size 274 to size 329). I just won 2.3 million, so it would still be a stretch and leave me nothing to stock the extra spaces. Would upgrading this much really make a jump in my shop sales? I normally keep 10-11 pages stocked, and lately I've been pretty broke doing that, so this would take all my extra np - and then some. I normally get about 70 hits a day (zero from hut, almost all from wiz) and only sell 20-50 items a day right now. What do you all think? Of course, I want to be main market one day, but I'm not sure if this is the right time to make this particular jump... Is it worth it?

I'm in the Roo Island Mall chain, so the graphics are always good. :) If shops are in a hut, does that mean most of their hits come from the hut instead of from shop wiz? I'm wondering....if a mall had smaller shops (like 200), but they were always well stocked (say 8 pages or so each) but another mall had MI-hut-sized shops, but they were not well stocked (say 2 pages each) - which would get more traffic? I say upgrade, it'll just be that many fewer upgrade bewtween you and MM. And I would think that the smaller shop would get more hits, but if you look at the top shops here, then it might not be the case *unsure* theres alot of factors that affect the people that come to your shop (keeping in mind that hits don't always mean sales). It depends if their items are SW priced or not. I can't answer the 2nd question with certainty, but the MI mall would still get more traffic. But that does not mean more sales. The more stock you have, the more sales obviously. (Factors in the MI Mall could play a role, like someone visiting a poorly stocked shop and not visiting the other shops in that mall etc.)

Few pages with hut size shops since people who come in through the wiz won't click on the mall banner.

Oh, I hadn't thought of that! I guess wiz people don't have a reason to click the mall banner, do they? Good point! :) I've been religious about keeping my quest books stocked because I thought I owed that to my mall. But since almost all my clicks come from wiz, I guess I'm not doing anything for my mall, anyway. LOL! Gee, that just casts a whole new light on everything. ;) ~ Love books? I used to do books, and you can make a killing off the quest books. If I were you, I'd reduce your markup on them some. I used to buy up a ton of the cheapest wiz quest books, and then price mine as the new lowest, and it was where I made most of my NP.. Not sure about the hut thing, but I think I agree that since Island is in a picture, more people are likely to stumble across it...

Well I personally saw a big change from spooky to MI, as well as another as I moved up into the larger shops. You arent going to see hut hits because your banner isnt really coded for it. Your other banners are both linked to your petpage so odds are any hut hits you get are going to that instead of your shop. Did you code your petpage with the &petpage? I personally would suggest leaving one quest banner for your page and another that says sold here or something that links to your shop with the &banner.

Oh, okay. Thanks! Yes, I'm going to re-do my shop front. I definitely need a more hut-friendly banner. My current quest banner links to the petpage because that's where my "search by alphabet" tool is, but I'm positive that I'm not getting hut hits on that banner because I'm getting zero hits from my pet page. LOL! It took forever to create it, but it seems to be pretty worthless. I think it's pretty, but it's useless. :P and yes, clicks there do say "&petpage" Thanks for the tips! I noticed a 10-20% increase in sales between spooky and mystery island. I didn't change malls, banners etc, so that increase can be entirely attributed to the increased traffic on MI

Although, I'm now in a main market mall, I hope I can still see the difference between the two.
