Pricing?

Hey, all... I'm looking to make more of a profit from my shop, but I don't want to drive up prices tooooo high. How far below "SW price" do you normally go? I try to price somewhere in the middle of the R's and E's section of the Wiz, but I'd like to make...well, a lot more than I'm making now! Any advice?

For most of my items I do the 100& method where you double what the item's worth i.e. 200 np sells for 400np

unfortunately, until you reach at least spooky/mystery island market size, preferably main market, you'll probably end up making less profit if you raise your prices too far above SW prices. I would keep on raising the items 100nps at a time until that items sales slow down. Try and find a balance for each item. If you notice an item isn't selling very well, do the opposite, lower the price 100nps at a time until it starts selling, bringing traffic to your shop. Hope that helps :)

For me, the more the item sells for (sw price), the more expensive my prices are; for an item worth 200np, I'll price it at 500. If an item is worth 1000np, i'll price it at 1500. But if an item is 35000np, I'll price it at 39000np. But I do try to make everything sw priced, and if I can, in the top section of it.

I don't price most of my items at sw price because that means I have to restock my shop more and I am making less profit per item.

I price mine 2-4k above what I get them for, and I am luckily in the SW group that allows me to do this and yet still be lowest on my SW page ;) Very effective when you can't SSW Paint Brushes. A lot of it may be your category - Battle just isn't what it used to be *unsure* .:| Paint Brushes |:. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=heartlessness_&banner

~ May ~ That depends 100% on your shop size. If your shop is big enough to have sales even tho you are outrageously overpriced, go for it XD As for me, sadly enough, m and z is the cheapest cattegory for toys, usually, so I have to price them decently low so I actually show on the wiz XD

It would also depend on getting to know your stock. I have a couple of items that I price minimum 500 NP over the average I buy them at and they sell very, very well. Yet other items need to be closer to SSW. So play around with your prices. Battledome Weapons, Shields and Cures!

put it a couple neopoint below where you are located on the shop wiz. (go http://home.neopets.com/templates/homepage.phtml?pet_name=Fallen_Eden to see where you are located on the shop wiz.)

I'm now at the point where I can price outrageously and get compliments for my prices *snickers* It also helps that I seem to be in the one "recession-proof" category, petpets & pbs. I can charge a 30k markup on a pb and have it sell later that day. However, this is partly because I'm top of my hut mid-mystery island, and am in a mall that does weekly 4mill ads, and therefore has huge traffic. Before I was bumped up to the 4mill weekly ads mall, my prices were often too high to sell much. I agree with previous posters about trying to raise your prices 100 nps at a time to find the right balance. The key seems to largely be making things not seem overpriced, even if they are!
