Is it acceptable...

Is it acceptable to run and manage a mall, but be in a different mall that isn't yours? I have seen some people doing this, and while it would make sense to join a mall with a larger shop requirement, does (in your opinion) that set a bad example for you as a leader? Just wanting thoughts and opinions. I don't think I would feel right doing that, but it may be something common that I have not noticed :)

In my opinion? No. It's like the difference between babysitting someone's child and taking your care of your own child. The difference in effort and initiative is going to be different. I recall a thread like this a month back or something and i think i said the same thing. Basically, if you're not involved with the "project" directly, you wont give it as much effort as if you were. You might try hard for the first couple days though but it will slowly fade/get boring. --------------------------------------------- Celebrate Xmas at Xmart. I agree. It doesn't show much confidence in your own mall to join someone else's either. Wasn't sure if this was now acceptable or not. Meh.

I do know there are some mall groups that a supervisor of a mall may be in a different mall branch then they supervise.

I never thought I would reach 227 hits in one day. Of course, I wouldn't have I weren't selling all the books in my shop, but still... Makes me happy :)

Congrats on the hits. I know I'm happy if I get 100 each day. I'm new to malling but just thinking rationally I don't see how it's acceptable. It's kind of like telling everyone that they have to only be in your mall when you really aren't even a a part of it. Plus why would you supervise another mall? It's not like you are gaining anything out of it. Your shop isn't being advertise when you're working your butt off and instead both malls the person is with get screwed. If you want to supervise - get a job in the mall you're in - personal opinion. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=evilbluemunkeyz

Absolutely :) And i'm up to 243 hits now. I'm enjoying it lol.

In my opinion it's not acceptable. My goal is to get my shop to size 1000 and I always think once I get there I might be able to join XMart, but then I think oh dang I forgot I already own a mall then I feel guilty ;)

I love the mall I'm in now. I'm only size 70 so I'm in a smaller mall but everyone - both small and large - are asked to upgrade their sizes each week so therefore we all grow together therefore if I'm size 1000 one day - which would be a miracle lol - then I'd probably still be in the mall. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=evilbluemunkeyz

I once left a mall for this very reason :) Because of all the reasons others have listed, I didn't feel that the owner had enough confidence in the mall and because I felt that they wouldn't put the same effort into it.
