Oh I tried to read that a few years back and gave up as I wanted to read lord of the rings straight after it, but realised I wouldn't have the time. So they are still both on my never ending to read list.

Wonderful thread!
Right now I'm reading Osler's Web: Inside the Labyrinth of the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Epidemic. Wonderful book, but I'm on page 51 out of... about 700. It's non-fiction, but fun. (If 'horrible, terrible disease is misunderstood & maligned' is fun to you)
Hm. I really miss reading fiction. Right now, I've finished the most recent Warriors book Sunrise, and I'm looking for something else.
Yeah i love these off topic threads (desktop, etc) Quite interesting to see what other mallers are up to :P
and speaking of desktops, I remember seeing something like "take a picture of your computer" thread on another forum - might be interesting here too

Yeah I want to read those too. People always say that books are better than the movies, and considering the movies were pretty good then I'm excited about reading the books.
I just finished Syrup by Maxx (Max) Barry. I think I'll read Keep the Aspidistra Flying by George Orwell next.
Lilly, I'll add Osler's Web to my list now. Sounds interesting.
Lol I suddenly found out I have to read a 250 page book that has been turned into a movie and I have to watch the movie by this Thursday, in School my teacher never made it clear what the instructions were so I had just read Starclimber by Kenneth Opel, which fit all the requirements until I found out it had to be a movie :( So now I'm going to try to read Robin Hood in a week, it's the only one I can find that I'm able to find an available movie for that I haven't already read the book for.
I was sad when I couldn't find any copies of "The Princess Bride" in the library *lol* I loved that movie, I went through about 50 links on the website before I was able to find an available book that I haven't yet read that has been made into a movie that I would have time to read.
So I'm reading The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood and watching the Disney movie since I already own it XD

Mystery books, hhhmm... I haven't read many mystery books in sometime so I can't really recommend any good ones. Well there is a couple. For starters the book i'm reading right now is a mystery book, an old one, but is a good read so far all the same. Unlike many classics, it is actually really easy to read, no difficult language or anything like that.
Another good mystery is in a swedish book which has been translated to english as "The girl with the dragon tattoo" by Steig Larsson. It has an amazing mystery in it. An old man hires a journalist to investigate a murder that happened in the family many years ago (May have been 15 or more, I can't remember exactly). Anyhow he believes a family member was behind it so the journalist investigates. There is many sub plots in it too. A warning however, this book is not for the faint hearted. There is a very graphic rape scene in there.
As for the finding time to read, 30 minutes before bed sounds a good idea. You could also switch that to maybe setting an alarm 30 minutes earlier in a morning and reading then.

I'm probably one of the few people on this planet who hasn't seen the movies yet. I have this thing where I have to read the books before I can see the films... so yeah, one year when I have read the books I can finally watch the films *lol*

Shame on the page limit. I know an AMAZING book which a movie was also made for, but I can't remember how many pages long the book was. The handmaids tale. One of my favourite books of all time actually. I wrote my dissertation on that and 1984 as they are similar subject matter.
