Why Swear

Gotta say I love this neomallers site but one thing that really disappointments me is all the swearing. I know there are children that come to this site and to see the language that goes on gets under my skin and I know I am not the only one. Would neopets allow it I DONT THINK SO I find it very offensive and I guess it just shows their lack of maturity

Also, it is not a sign of a limited vocab but a sign of being relaxed in the company of people you consider equals. You don't swear in front of your betters, you are trying to impress them. You don't swear in front of those who you may be a role model to. You swear when you are around equals, when you are comfortable, and when you are just people coming together for an informal cause. Finally, using words like 'crumbs' is meaningless. Everyone knows what you mean. What's the diff? Just makes you sound like a goody-two-shoes.

I don't find swearing a big deal.. especially out of frustration. But swearing at somebody, especially if its not a joke, is quite offensive. It really depends on the tone though..

Agreed. Swearing AT someone is different.

I am a Christian, so I find swearing very offsive to me and my faith. Usuing bad words are just the same as taking the LORD's name in vain.
