Size 680 shop looking for a mall.
I'm looking for a position in a main market or main/island mix mall that is reasonably low maintenance, I've come from a cards/stamps/luck position which with 6 pages of stock was, I felt, too much to keep up with and still enjoy playing neopets. My neopets username is tsangpo, feel free to send a neomail there or reply here. I don't want to be involved in a mall with compulsory neoboard ads. Some category options that would seem to fit what I'm looking for: Stamps/coins but without the cards Training/luck (not likely, but worth a shot) Food Maps/Neggs

You might want to try and contact the Nursery malls, TML or some of the other malls off the NB. Good luck.

TML won't work as we do ads every week as we know this promotes shop acknowledgment. No advertising is less traffic. All mall members for our malls are required to participate in ads. Small or large as they may be. A Simple Thank You Goes a Long Way!

The Kindergarten Branch of the Nursery Malls has one open tentatively but we're waiting to hear back from a member At the moment in the Nursery shops ads aren't mandatory except in the Grads branch - we will be doing an optional ad in Kinder each month so far unless the members think it helps significantly enough to be mandatory ;)

Thanks everyone for the suggested options and explanations. I'll check them out. Re the neoboard ads I've participated in regular ~1 million and a couple of one off 4 million ads before and found that they were just not worth it at the time. Was a while ago so could be different now and I didn't have a particularly popular category either so that could have been it. Still, at the moment I'm looking for a mall without weekly ads.

Les Boutiques is looking for a MM person for Maps/Neggs minimum shop size 620. NB ads are optional for individual mall members to participate in on their own - we don't do a mall one. Have a look at www.neopets.com/~ubson for our mall page and contact me (Branch One) nickyrach if you are interested. I believe we have a few people from your old mall in Branch One.

NB ads should make back what you paid and then some. If they are not, it may be a reflection that some other things are out of whack. Profit margin is one. Where is your shop in the hut? Is it even in a hut? Do you have a well stocked shop? All of these things are very important. There are many other things too but those are just a few:) Even small ads should be getting your shop more traffic and more sales. Even ads placed on page 2 or 3 will give you boost. Many people even flood the last few page of the NBS ad. They wouldn't keep doing that if it didn't work:) Malling is definitely an experience no matter what you decide. As your shop grows, what works actually changes:) Sometimes even a leap of faith is required to try new things. Everyone that has a good size shop has stories as to what can work as what hasn't worked for them. Good Luck no matter what mall you wind up in:) It's all just for fun that's the most important thing! A Simple Thank You Goes a Long Way!

I've decided to go with the Les Boutiques Mall. It seems the best fit for the type of malling I want to do. Thanks everyone for your input. Going back to the neoboard ads. I did them about 2-3 years ago when I was in Spooky/Island marketplace stocking the battledome category. I had a decent stock (4/5 odd pages) but fairly mild markups 20-30% on cheaper items and up to 100% on the more expensive/lower turnover items. The ads certainly got more visitors and turnover of stock but I had similar or better profit and less work restocking without them. I certainly accept that they work otherwise people wouldn't be using them, it just wasn't the style of malling that I was happy with then or now.

Congratulations on finding a mall that works for you. :) I tend to find it better to place a high markup for popular/cheap items at around 50-200% and a lower markup for less popular and more expensive items to get some wiz hits (not to mention the discrepancy in price between the wiz categories allows for some profit to be made too). Best of luck! :*
