Main Market: Get there slowly or make the leap?

So I originally had this goal of getting to Main Market by the end of the summer, going slowly, doing occasional upgrades. But many people have been talking about great summer sales. So Ive been considering if it would be advantageous for me to make the leap to main market now, and maximize my summer sales. I could sell off I couple gallery items to fund the leap and they would be hidden tower items so that I could rebuy them at about the same price (SoS and Pbs). Another thing to consider is that I will be staying in the same mall (which isnt main market, but min size is 390 I think). So I wont get any advantage of main mallers linking to me, it would just be my shop moving up into a main hut. Any comments /suggestions/etc are welcome =)

If I were you I would wait because entering main market without a main market mall will probably not significantly increase your sales. I also want to get there asap, but don't have the pure to do it all now :P Good luck with whatever option you chose! :D

Hm, Jaspeh, you're in the same boat as me except with more nps (or things to sell for nps.) My goal is to get to main by the end of the summer as well. I've used all my nps for stocking and I'm just going with profit now. But if you have the nps I'd say do it! Though it doesn't look like you're planning on moving to a bigger mall (main market mall), I would suggest it if you can, because then your profits will increase even more because you will be linked in each of their huts as well.

Yeah, Pip has a good point. If you're not planning on changing malls, I'd say just keep going with the profit you make. You are 4mil ads so that would make up for the lack of being in main market, if not more, is my guess.

I wish I could move up to main, but my category doesnt open very often :P And I dont really want to change categories either, so Im just playing the waiting game for a main market spot to open open eventually... Thanks for the suggestions so far =)

Sometimes you gotta be willing to change catagories to get into the mall you want then hope an opening comes about for the stock you want to carry. I have sold food, petpets, battledome and my current toys/pets/usuki. You wind up having to sell your current stock at market or store it but it is worth it in the long run.

Well Im already with Roo Island which I love, Im just in a smaller branch and not one of their main ones. They know I want to move up into the main spot if my category opens tho :)

Well if you enter main, you should see the benefit even if you dont change malls. Of course, it;ll be better to join a main market mall under a different cat...

I'd say it would be a smart move to get into main by June, but indeed to reap the full profits you need to be in a main market mall. The lower huts of main aren't that great anyhow, so alone upgrading and sticking with your current mall I doubt you would notice any difference in profits. Could pay off to get the upgrade done and out the way though, that way if your category does ever open within a respectable mall, you have the head start in applying due to already being main. Rather than stalling to sell stuff. Although if you are happy with Roo, and they would offer you the spot if it ever opened regardless of whether it would take you an hour or a week to get to main then you may as well stay where you are until that happens :P Shows good faith to get the upgrades in though :)

I would make the leap and get to main market ASAP. I noticed a big increase in sales when i entered the main market. Malling is about making profit, and having a main market shop will give you a lot more profit then having a couple of items in your gallery. At least, as long as the neo-economy doesn't go crazy and the value of those items goes up by a lot, in which case, I shall not be held responsible :P

Yea, I know that I should probably change categories if I wanna get into main, but I just dont think I could keep up with many of the categories that have such a large amount of unique items. Hmm yea, I probably have better chances of getting into a main mall if Im already a main size anyways =) Killercars, when you got to main, did you change malls? Or stayed in the same at first? I feel like the big change comes when people do both (jump to main and join a main mall at the same time). The items Im selling shouldnt change price unless they retire from the HT, which better not happen :P Nice to see the different opionions. I remember so many people telling me I'll see a huge change when I get into a main hut, and now some are seeing they didnt see much of a change when they got to main.
