I'm planning on opening a neopets graphics website, but I havn't got much spare cash to hand over to web hosting companies (especially not $10 a month for a decent host, plus $40 set up fee). I was doing some research and I read somewhere that its possible to host a website from your own computer. We have an old, slow, good-for-nothing spare computer, so I was wondering if it would be a good idea to clear out all the private files and such (I am aware there could be some potential security risks), and host the website from that computer?

Yes... one brave maller went and hunted him down, and came back with the following picture. Note the two eyes growing off his ears, the eye coming out the top of his head, and the other 4 eyes on his face. :O
Also the sad/grumpy mouth :( awww... and the broken heart... double awww *cry* What you cannot tell from this picture is that his hair is actually a wig because he is over 100 years old and so lost all his real hair!

My friends and I are looking to make a website for my friends clothing business and don't want to pay someone to do it for us. I offered to help since i know a bit about coding and stuff like that cause of neo but im pretty much confused about everything else. From my understanding i need a Domain and Webhost which preferably i'd like to get for free to practice with for now. Question #1 : Can i get a decent Domain and Webhost supplier for free or cheap just to mess around with making a site? if so then where?
Just got photoshop and dreamweaver to help with the design.

Hey everyone :) I have been thinking of starting a graphics website of my own for a while now, but havn't been sure if I want to put money down on it. Does anyone know of a host that would supply enough bandwidth to support my site as it started off, that doesn't cost more than around $5 per month, and doesn't require that in order to get the price of $5/month, I have to pay 100 years in advance :P Also, does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my website secure, if I do go ahead? Don't want hackers and such destroying my site and affecting the members.
