*lol* i'd never really noticed that before. Only works in text though sadly :( Swedish is annoying as often it is spoken completely different to how it reads. It sounds more luker... looker... kinda hard to explain lol, but yeah the y has an odd sound in swedish. (sorry to hijack your topic china :P)

Yes, I can barely hear that when I really listen (now that you have explained it to me I can only faintly hear it -- more like a faith in what you are telling me instead of actually hearing it, lol). Every language has those little subtleties that make them sound authentic when spoken. So many English-speaking French students just cannot pronounce the French R because it's at the back of the throat instead of at the front of the mouth as in English.
I know way too much about speaking and what your mouth is/should be doing because I have taken voice lessons and my son was born deaf (he hears perfectly now). Trying to explain to him how to make sounds he just can't hear because his hearing was not trained from birth has been challenging at times! He makes me laugh though because he says some crazy things: Mama, are you DEATH?! (instead of deaf) *lol* I wish I could remember more of them...I should keep a list because it's just hilarious! He has a pretty unique speech pattern and word order...when he was little people thought he was British and I was his Nanny, LOL! An example of his word order is: "Mama, when we go to the store in a minute, we can get some Pokemon cards, right?" Most children would say: Can we get some Pokemon cards? He says the person's name he is speaking to each time he speaks to them too which is kinda funny.
OKay, yeah, sorry your thread is being hijacked, lol!
