Something with various items I think is a good one. Or maybe food which good luck if anyone has a mall opening for that in this size post now. It is my opinion that if you did a varied food category with no mall you could do very well if you priced appropriately then when you hit. Plus post on those boards it does help, anything you do to ad your shop helps some even if it is a critique of your shop your sales may go up but you have to price appropriately also. That is the best category hints I can think of and I wih I would have known about this great way to learn all the neo hints like you did when I was your size I may be alot further along then I am now. Ah well! --------------------- Best Priced Malls Toys, Plushies, Usuki's, Paintbrush's, Job Coupons, & Morphing Potions http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=suzierainbow
You need a good slogan though. Or else all that advertising would be for nothing.
I always use: POST YOUR SHOP HERE! Lol..It gets me sales and it stays bumped :D http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=beetleboo69
Wich category is apropriated to my shop size?
That depends on how much time you have to play neo, how much NP you have to buy items, how much profit you're looking for, etc. etc. The Preschool Mall: Petpet Paradise http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=mizleah

So, in everyones' opinions, what IS the best shop to have? I'm doing well with books, although i've never really done anything else other than avatars. And it didn't come close to the profit I make with books. Didn't even equal half of it, really. Do you think Faerie is a profitable category (to those who have run a faerie shop before, of course)?

So far I've tried Furniture & Gardening, Neggs/Training/Luck/Jobs, Grooming/Clothing and Wearables/Neggs/Paint Brush/Morphing Potion (Obviously the later was as an independent shop, not a mall). Neggs seemed to be the most profitable to me. Even with items marked 1k NPs above market price, my sales were pretty good without being in a marketplace. It's expensive to stock but if you have the SSW, you get so many snipes, it's awesome. Stocking is pretty easy and it leaves room to check codestones which are a goldmine and sell fast. Paintbrush & Morphing potions is pretty darn expensive to stock although easy to maintain and can be quite profitable if you take the time to refresh a lot and buy low. I wouldn't take it as an only category though, either combine with maps or neggs. Luck/Jobs was bleh. It doesn't sell well, not very profitable either. Furniture & Gardening is a lot of fun since it's a pretty big category. You need to keep the prices low or you won't get many customers since they tend to buy in bulk and don't want to waste too much NPs on overpriced stuff. You also need a huge variety and to keep more than just 1 of each item to appeal the real NeoHome addicts. However, if you like to see a lot of sales in your history, it's definitely a good category for that and is quite profitable too if you have the time to invest in it. Wearables can get pretty expensive to stock but it's very profitable because of the constant inflation/deflation of items. You need a shop big enough to keep many pages of stock though. Grooming/Clothing made me wanna hang myself. Terrible sales, average profit, I'm not touching that category again. Perhaps I was just doing something wrong, I don't know, I just didn't like it one bit. This is just personal experience of course, take it as you may. I hope it helps a bit though ^.^

yes it does. I was considering doing Scrolls and School for my mall or Paint Brushes and MPs. I've put so much time into my book shop though, I think I would regret selling it all and re-starting. I dunno. Something to think about.
