Being owned by MTV, you'd think they'd have easy access to such resources too, and be experts in Cross Marketing. Hmmm... I wonder why they haven't yet then?

Nowadays, many people log in for 2 minutes to 1. use lab ray and/or 2. buy stocks and/or 3. put pets in neolodge. I was just speaking to a user that I haven't spoken to for a long time and they say they rarely log on anymore. And when they do, all they do is put their pets in the neolodge. Another user I spoke with said all they do nowadays is buy stocks. I was one of those kind of users for a month. Then I quit altogether for half a year. Then came back and decided to start malling.. I've only started malling for a few months. Hope I can continue with this. School more important than Neopets. If someone thinks otherwise, then they need to set life goals. Strong message but true. It seems Nick. shot themselves in the foot when they rebranded Neopets as a 'Kids only' site, and it's been that way so long it would be a hard image to shake if they WANTED to, which I don't think they do. Now, if there was another game that people moved to when they 'grew out of neopets' owned by Nick, then keeping the branding like this would make sense. But marketing it as a kids only site is spelling it's own doom. People will grow OUT of the site, but will not be replaced at the same rate, as other things are newer or flashier, and that's what the new crowd of children will want. Thus, a shrinking user base. There's no better way to kill your product than to specifically EXCLUDE the majority of your possible audience (especially when that majority is the pocketbook in the house), especially when your target audience will eventually BECOME that excluded audience, by just getting older naturally... Then again, I've never understood marketing and generally think marketers are the devil - anyone whose job it is to convince you that you can't live without something you really never needed? Yea, I'm a great person to be running a mall store *lol*

They could take the entire neopets site, put it into a new title, and try again advertising it as not so much a kids site...
