Bad install
Hi, I've been trying to install the sales tracker but something weird happens. I download the file (yes, the right one), open it, install it, nothing wrong happens, I get the message of sucessfull instalation but... when I go to the folder there's only 2 files there (see screenshot). It's getting frustrating. I'm using Windows Vista. Thanks in advance for the help.

As with any installation program, disable all security programs and if possible, windows vista's user account control

Oh, yeah forgot to say I did that too. User Acount Control is always off as it is the most annoying piece of programing someone as ever created :P

Then i dont know. Most people have issues after install so it must be something specific to your computer. Try installing to a different folder, restarting, etc p.s. things like norton/AVG for example, still interfere even when disabled. --------------------------------------------- Celebrate Xmas at Xmart. More info: Having tried everything I can think off I decided to see if the update instaler has the same issues. It does not. The installer is able to create all the files. I actually get to run the Portal.exe Of course I then get an error after (because I used the update without the actual program installed).

Because all the updater file does is copy the files. the installer file needs to copy AND register the Microsoft VB6 runtimes in order for it to work properly. And that requires editing of the registry and that's where your security programs are coming into play. The installer file is OK. Most of the people on this site were able to get it running. EDIT: The other option is to install it in Windows Safe mode. Just before the windows logo appears, press F8. If the logo appears, then that means you missed it. Another way to force safe mode is to turn off your computer while Windows is booting. That will bring up the menu and then you can choose safe mode --------------------------------------------- Celebrate Xmas at Xmart. *unsure* Ok... Computer 1 (my laptop)- Vista - Norton (off) Computer 2 (my desktop) - XP - Avira (off) Computer 3 (Father's laptop) - Vista - Nothing (brand new computer nothing installed) Tried regular boot and safe mode in all of them. Downloaded new install in every computer. Uninstalled previous try before rebooting to try in safe mode. Same problem in all of them.

I guess it doesnt work from you then. Since it has been tested in Vista Home Premium, Windows XP SP3, and Windows 7 Pro with the current installer and all goes fine. If the file itself was corrupted, then this board would be filled with the same issue. Try using IE to download --------------------------------------------- Celebrate Xmas at Xmart. Dmitri? Promoting IE? Is it 2012 already? --- Step outside, take a breath of fresh air, then look down to see if you have a new text message.
