Hiya! I am not trying to pick at the rules, but there have been a few malls in my day and now one that I manage. I have seen a few things not work well for the managers\owners and those are the things I will try to explain. Here are your rules and a few ideas that I will post afterward with two carrots, I hope you do not mind and this is the type of feedback that you were looking for. * You must have a minimum shop size of 50 - I am willing to make exceptions if you will upgrade to the minimum size within a month ^^I noticed that there is a area on this site where you can find ppl looking for open slots - I hope when I post the link it works LOL! http://www.neomallers.com/mall_recruits?action=list * You must have at least 1+1/2 pages of stock at all times ^^This would be impossible for Morphing as most potions are TP items * The mall banner must be in your shop at all times (Very Concise!) * Please update your mall banner every Saturday or Sunday ^^Pick a day and give them a day to change it some mallers only pop in once a week during the summer especially if they have a large shop * Your stock must be at least 90% of your category - Paint brushes, morphing potions ect. excluded for obvious reasons ^^This rule should still apply just have them carry a category or two extra you make one exception and everyone is going to ask you to stray the rules * There are to be no links to outside shops or malls in your shop (Very Concise!) * Please provide sufficient notice before leaving the mall ^^What is sufficient to you may not be for them make a set time frame like plz give a weeks notice before leaving * No busy backgrounds, music or anything that would take a while to load ^^Be careful with this one, I would say backgrounds or no backgrounds and stand hard and strong with your decision (everyone is going to push for and it is a matter of opinion what takes time to load based on their internet speed. Dial-up modems can take forever where cable or other means take a second) * If your going to be away for more than two days please stock your shop before you leave ^^What about notifying you? and what if it is not possible. I just had a member that was gone for an extended period of time and I had no idea why but was a bigger shop and was unnoticeable to those not paying attention. They finally got back after a LONG time (I was super worried) I had worked with this person for almost 2 years and knew something was wrong. It was a family issue which they apologized for but I could not blame her for not getting to me when I heard the reason. This is a game and some malls go crazy about notice and mall shop stock, sometimes there is a judgment call to keep a good shopkeeper, you have to be careful not to set yourself up to force one out. In this particular situation there was enough stock to stay in the "game of things". My supervisor and I decided to try to wait it out as she had the stock out and for sale. I hate to brag but my mall shopkeepers have been together for a long time and they work hard for me and for one another. The management team asks and treats neopets as it is... a game, as our Mall owner has asked. Notice is nice but not always an option, computers crash, ppl get sick, families get interrupted. Over time you will know who is good and who to consider changing things around when things seem to go wrong. You are almost safer leaving this an semi open rule and asking for contact. * If you are unable to be on-line for more than a week, please neomail 11_bionicgirl_11 (Very Concise! see notes above) * You must be willing to increase your shop in size every month to complete your Shop Size Goal ^^which is what for each shop? 5 sizes, ten sizes? * You must be willing to pay 20k neopoints once a month for the Notice Board Ad, if you do not pay I will leave your shop out of the ad. -If you miss 3 payments you will have a chance to make them up or be taken from the mall ^^Why does every mall try to force this and go for such a high amount? We left this open and polled what everyone in the mall was willing to pay once we had a base mall. Then we agreed on an amount, then there were some internet issues on my end, then we paused which we are currently, and those that post their own ads have been doing that everyone in my mall has one I think right now, so they can use it when they want. Why force it and make more work for yourself? I just checked and so far (even though I just started here at neomallers) there is not one purchase that came from my ads this week so far. One final add would be to the application requests - Referrals from another mall owner/manager/supervisor even a member that they may have worked with I hope this helps give you a few more ideas and I think you have a great outline to work with just maybe some ideas to think over that is what the boards are about right?
