I don't like them for myself but quite frankly don't really care. I rarely have to scroll through them to buy something from someone else's shop so it doesn't affect me and I'm not in MM so I don't have to deal with them in hut positioning. I only pay much attention to my hut position every couple of weeks, because it changes SO MUCH and on such a regular basis that it's pointless to try to stay on top every day. I think I mentioned it once before, I upgraded some crazy amount of sizes to get to the top of my hut awhile back and literally not FIVE MINUTES later did I go back and check, and I had been bumped to the bottom of the next page, if I remember correctly. After that, I gave up trying to stay on top. Once I'm in a more stable hut and in MM, I'll watch it more closely. As far as banners, to each their own :)

Depends on how pretty the banners are verses whether they are in my way/in my mall mates way :P I despise that haplos banner, especially when its on top of my mall members in that hut! Just YUCK! There is someone out there who used to have banners a bit like that, but even more ugly, and even larger! Oh how much that made me cringe whenever I saw it. When you are going to the extreme that this guy was, you can't help but wonder how much of a negative effect it has on sales. Obviously many of us here just go "NO" and click the next on the wiz... surely even noobs have a limit too. As Dmitri pointed out, it's only something that continues as you get larger, the top few huts, are dominated by huge banners, you don't see the likes of me complaining when the say 5 shops above me have like 20 huge banners each in their stores :P As a rule everything evens out in the end, if you work hard at your hut position, everyone gets a shot at being top for some time, so it should all even out. And finally, quit picking on my members ;) Or I might tell Mel to try and squeeze even more banners in, just to be annoying. I hate neo for limiting coding space because I run out, but now I understand why. There are 2 shops that I visit regularly belonged to XMart - Mel's and Donnas. Mel's to pay my fees and Donna has the cheapest petpets. It is a pain to scroll down to get to the items, but if I were in the mall I wouldn't care - I would like it. I feel bad for people with slower computers/connections than me though, that could affect sales.

I'm personally not a fan of long banners. That's why mine are 540 x 540. NB ad and shop. Nice and short. Some people like the longer banners though because they aren't as tight-fit. Just depends I suppose. When restocking, unless the person I click on is OUTRAGEOUSLY cheaper than anyone else, I typically skip the long banner shops. Too much scrolling.
