Mall Categories and Quest items
I am not positive this is the best place to post this but... Here goes... After checking through my malls and trying to locate a faerie quest item the other day. I tried to use the site for shops that should have had the item so that I could complete it. I was disappointed that many of the shops that should have had the item did not. Eventually, I settled on the only shop that had the item even though it was hugely over priced only because no one appeared to be carrying it. Why is there not more mall shops in categories carrying their Faerie items and ensuring stock? Just a curious question is all... Thanks in advance for your feedback! I have this same problem and I think it has to do with sheer volume of items to stock and the amount of time someone spends on their shop. I have not stocked quest items but stocked avatar items and keeping up with the 100 or so items I had to keep up with was difficult at times even with the portal. Also, if it's an expensive item I sometimes had to choose not to restock it until I found a better price. It was hard to stock a 20K item that I'd only make a little profit on (1K - even at the top of the SW price)...I'd just look for it each day until I found one cheaper. As for other reasons, I can't think of any at the moment! ~ Mimi ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ temps_bons graphics ~ http://www.neopets.com/~Mimi_Miaulement

Thanks for the feedback! I understand that a small shop would have difficulty with this I would say I am med. shop in between mini and MM and I have always carried my quest items the shops. I went to were MM and top of the sales list on the site and maybe that is why... is the sale out in volume and time to restock. I understand the expensive items and even baby steps to carry them but these were top shops on the site, which is what confused me. Old saying came to mind curiosity killed the cat, so I had to ask and see what feedback I got. I also know some malls have faerie shops and I did not know if that was the case here too. Again Thanks Suz --------------------- Best Priced Malls Books, Paintbrush's, Job Coupons, & Morphing Potions http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=suzierainbow

Honestly, that is one of my pet peeves and probably something you should take up with your manager. A quest shop not having most of the items in stock just looks bad for the mall in general. I understand smaller shops just starting out that need to work up to the more costly items, but the rest should be well stocked just to be sure they are there in the meantime. Wiz pricing them in a mall is useless, they just sell way too fast and your better off selling slower and taking your profits. As far as other malls having faerie shops... most stick to quest shops. The faerie you see like mine are faerieland and we dont stock quest items.

when i ran the nursery malls i'd go through each branch's quest page (for example: http://www.neopets.com/~16again) and get so annoyed if a person were missing perfectly affordable quest items. the upper branches were usually pretty good about keeping their quest items in stock, but the smaller shops didn't have the experience to know how important stocking those items is.

Its a pet peeve of mine too. Quest spots are great ways to build up returning customers. I myself always buy my quest needs from malls, too lazy to get someone to search the item when I can get it myself. I usually head to my malls shop first, and if they don't have it in stock I have other shops that I usually head to out of loyalty. Not having said items in stock can lose that loyalty. On the other side of this, I have had a quest shop before. I dropped it after a few months (was doing clothes and grooming along with wearables) as I just found it too big a stress keeping all the items in stock. It can be tough. I really think only those who have the time and desire should run quest shops. ___________ Kirsty, aka evil super mod Sniper, maller, restocker Silverdragon siggy stealer Best wearables shop owner ever!

I've got all water faerie quest items in stock at all time. You can certainly count on my shop for water faerie quest items. :) Above that, the items in my shop are not that much overpriced. ;)

How are you! I did not realise you were not running that ship anymore. Nice link BTW I am going to save it in case I am in a Jam. My old mall used to have one of these but we do not and I am not sure anyone would volunteer to have one, we are sort of laid back. Part of the problem, but it is a fun mall not a strict. Thanks for the feedback and the great link for the next Jam I am in! Can you send me the link via email. Also I can add you to the list of bookshops for a mall as I may need someone for out MM mall soon. If I do and your shop fits I will reach out to you.
