Would it be a good choice?
I want to have a packrat shop and I have enough room for 270 items. I buy all my items 25 np or less and sell everything for 50-100np, after a while do you think I would earn much profit? I'm not looking for a bunch of profit just enough to keep upgrading my shop and I'm size 54. Do you think it's a good idea? I've tried a bunch of categories before including packrat

For the time you are spending it is not a good idea. You will get a lot of shop hits but making 50 np per item means you need to sell 2,000 items to make 100k. To stock, price, and sell 2,000 items would take much longer than playing games and making that amount. www.youtube.com/TKDJamesPakTKD Check out my Martial Arts samplers =)

Especially if your shop gets big, you probably won't be able to keep up with it. :P The Preschool Mall: Petpet Paradise http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=mizleah

Considering it only costs 10k an upgrade, for every 200 items you sell, you get an upgrade. Keep upgrading, adding more items, more duplicates of items, and you got yourself a right nice little shop.

I thought about doing this--and i say no. Here is why. You only get packrat avie once--so no repeat customers--EVER. I think you would be better off to invest in something that will bring repeat customers--something maybe unique. Like a jelly only shop or an omellette only shop or something Books! You also have those that go for it, don't quite make it and sell their junk, then try to go for it later again. That's what I did anyway.

Maybe sell cheap items like you are doing now and add some expensive items along with it. This will give you many hits and possibly, a better profit.

Go for it. There will always be someone attempting to reach the packrat avvie and on top of that it will be easier to stock up. If you add items that are higher priced you will get shop hits and sales. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=pearlsilver
Go for it. There will always be someone attempting to reach the packrat avvie and on top of that it will be easier to stock up. If you add items that are higher priced you will get shop hits and sales.
The problem is that if you sell packrat, your customers are obviously expecting and will only buy cheap items, so if you do add a more expensive item people will not buy it (unless they come through the shop wizard, and sw buyers will rarely bookmark shops, and you won't gain as much profit). Furthermore, most packrat items are junky which would not attract buyers to buy them for reasons other then packrat, and your mark-up will have to be small because most customers will know the basic price of these cheap items. And even if someone does buy 1000 different items from your shop, the time it takes to stock all those items will not be worth the profit made. So if it were up to me, switching to packrat would be a definite no.

IMO, using the method you are doing right now brings in super low profit. If you are looking to increase your shop size, playing the Stockmarkets and RSing in the Neopian Shops can do so much more. Imagine RSing the doughnuts in the Bakery (which are super easy to RS) gives you even more profit than buying off from the Shop Wizard and selling them for 50-75 NP profit. v Pokes guide :) _______________________________________________ Bugsy's GUIDE to Effective SHOPKEEPING and MALLING: Version 3: Learn More About Hut Positioning Edition http://www.neopets.com/~bugsy_lenny
