I've never understood why swearing is considered so bad. There are other words out there that are considered curse words that mean the EXACT same thing. It's just society decided to label some words worse than others when technically it really shouldn't even be that way.
I think the whole issue surrounding it is just ignorant to begin with.

I think when you really mean something and are really mad thats when you should swear. Not just in your everyday language(even though I occasionally swear here and there)

Neomallers is an off-site forum I guess, and people should be able to handle PG-13 at least. Like someone said before, it is a cultural thing. :)
& I try my best not to swear, because I firmly believe swearing is for people who have limited vocabularies or are unintelligent because, by swearing, it's basically like you're saying that you don't have the vocabulary to come up with a better word.
Well, you got me and my unintelligent self. I guess that the 3.82 GPA and the lessons in French, German, Spanish, Japanese and Russian only go so far. I suppose me and my f'n gd self will go hibernate with all the other rednecks.

Hahaha, Chad you're the best. My boyfriend swears all the time and he's one of the smartest people I know. And he definitely has a huge vocab. And someone else I know has their masters in ENGLISH and he knows other languages too and swears like a sailor. Swearing has nothing to do with unintelligence or limited vocabularies in the very least.
Actually, it doesn't matter if you know people like that. The American school system is a joke, I'm sorry, but I'm in high school and I've managed straight A+s in nearly every subject so far and I spend maybe an hour or less a day on homework. I know smart people swear, but they aren't using the f-bomb like it's an adjective or something. Basically, grades don't matter.
Ahh, that explains it. You're still in high school. I got where you're coming from. I also understand here in the real adult world where we pay taxes and have certain freedoms, we expect one of those to be free speech and the ability to drop a "F-Bomb" or two when we speak.

Rofl, I have to say, I'm one of those people who lives in the "real adult world" with taxes and the like... I was a straight A student in HS except for one of the four quarters of AP Calculus and 1 of the two quarters of CP Chemistry. I ended HS fifth in my class of 260 or so, with a GPA of 4.67 in our system, which I think translated to a 3.97 in a classic 4.0 system. (Our system was graded based on the difficulty of the courses, whether they were basic, 3.5, regular, 4.0, college-prep 4.5 or advanced-placement 5.0). At the university I've studied Chemistry and French...
I choose not to swear, and instead use my vocabulary and intelligence to seek out slightly less offensive phrasings for my discontent and such. But I know many very intelligent people who do swear, and yes, technically you could say that the first amendment protects your right to use swear words...
But if something is offensive to a great number of other people, I just don't see why someone would choose to use the offensive words and phrases, when there ARE so many non-offensive ways to say the same things. *shrugs* But thats just me.

I do know some people find it offensive but lets be realistic for a second and just say plainly that swearing is an everyday thing and commonly used between friends and a relaxed way to talk. It's annoying to talk 'proper' all the time.
If you are offended, let me say I respect that but really - how do you get through a single day without being offended?
Lastly, children swear all the time so I don't really know what it is that you are trying to protect them from.
