Not to start nasty rumors, but if you go look at the Hiring page at MTV, they're hiring project managers, programmers, etc. for a 'New MMO based on existing properties'. My guess is Petpet park was the pilot test project for something bigger. Neo IS dying a slow death to more modern online games with flashy graphics, etc, so a Neopets MMO would be the logical next step...
Sorry to put another unrelated post up but if neo goes into just petpet park or some other mmo I will quit lol petpet park is sooo...stupid. IMO :P

I love habbo, but hate all the effing noobs on there

Since permission's been given to derail a bit from the main topic... here goes nothin' ^.^ I don't think they would just let Neopets die altogether. While some of the features we enjoy, such as malling (even though it's not an official neopets feature but... you know what I mean), appear to be in a steady decline, the site in itself is still earning its owners quite a good chunk of money. They'd be crazy to throw away a successful franchise that has given birth to so many real world products (including the Oh-so-elusive NC Mall, since it's fueled off real money). They could always neglect the site and focus on whatever new project they may be working on, but seeing how they are still introducing new features, site events and such at regular intervals, it doesn't seem to be something anyone should be worried about for now. However, should they indeed try to feed us their MMO baby as the new hot thing to Neopets.com's expense, then I am most definitely outta here. I'm not saying a neopets MMO wouldn't be fun, although perhaps a tad too "Child-oriented" for me, but I do have this one problem with MMOs... they're addicting as hell. I enjoy Neopets because, unlike an MMO, you don't feel obligated to play. I can skip a day or two if I want, I don't have to arrange my schedule around Neo since I can log at any time or day of the week, I don't rely on other people playing at the same times I do to enjoy the game... but an MMO... *Shudders* As a former Hardcore World of Warcraft player (Over 4 years of intense gaming), I'd rather not go there again. No, I'm not one of these people crying about how the game ruined my life and Blah Blah Blah, I hold fond memories of that game, but my life's taken a new direction that's not MMO friendly anymore. There aren't all that many sites like Neo left out there, most of 'em being cheap knock offs of the site itself, so I think that's what makes its charm. I like Neopets the way it is... say no to MMOs! Oh, and best of luck finding a mall Cars. Welcome back! =) ..::Cerbie's Sweets & Bakery::.. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=cerberus_neo

They are wayyyy too competitive and take a lot of time because of equipment cost and being a guild leader is just horrible because of the guild runs and such. I am a lvl 120 character on one of my mmos and let me tell YOU! Neopets was my first online game I ever played. It is much easier to manage neopets than it is an mmo because friends bother you to play more. Honestly, the whole point of an mmo is to throw so many events in your face that you stay on the game all day trying to achieve a goal. Then there is, of course, games like WoW where you throw money at them every month which makes it hard to stop playing because you figure you invested a lot into it. Whew~ Done :P
