Can anyone help me improve my mall?
Ok well my mall has been open since November of 2008. Please tell me you heard of us: Herald Square mall... Anyone Heard of it? oK WELL i HAVE SOME MEMBERS WHO HAVE OK SHOPS AND PAY THEIR FEES ALL THE TIME BUT i THINK THEIR SHOPS CAN BE BETTER. tHEN i HAVE SOME PEOPLE who have really good shops but don't pay their fees and then the average one that you like having!.... sorry my caps was on :( Anyway, any suggestions as to what I can do? Oo and also desperately_yours is my co-manager and he has helped me alot so far!

Can't say i've heard of you. I'm too lazy to check, but I take it you are a mini mall? Most mini malls either lack good management, doesn't seem to be the case here, or else dedicated mallers. While you may have some members that are good at some things and not others, i'd say it's pretty tough to find dedicated mini mallers. Sure there are some out there, but the chance of getting them all in the one mall... slim :P Just be strict, set targets for sizes and whatnot and insist they be kept to. No payment for ads, either make them not compulsary, or else count late payments as warnings. 3 warnings = out. That way only your dedicated people will stay.

Nice mall page though :P Thankfully a nice mall page isn't everything, since ours is a complete mess as I hate coding *lol*

I honestly think you need to increase the shop size to at least 100 to get serious members to join. Also, I think that a one miss and you're done approach to NB ads is the way to go. If we want more members and want to be recognized as a serious mall, we need members that will not only cooperate with us but also ones that will help each other out through encouragement and constructive criticism.

Ok and i guess we are kinda a mini-mall sorta, and Chad I am hoping to get a size requirement of 100 by July 1. Since now I have no time to upgrade myself but the beginning of summer after school and graduation like the 2 weeks I need and my shop will be size 100! Many have increased greatly though! And the petpage coding is credited to brexis without him our page would've been a mess also :) But I think if I am strict and kick people out the mall will be empty and then I won't know what to do from then on.

Shop sizes are constantly going up to make marketplace. I think it is smart to have mini malls but make sure each mall has size requirements and you stick to them because it makes other mallers upset if they have invested a lot more in their shop size and stock then the other mallers in their mall. It also helps to put a minimum of pages to shoot for so they know what you expect. A lot of mallers are newer when shop sizes are low, so giving them realistic expectations with realistic goals is a great way to create mallers that will make you proud.

OK cool, and I send out neomails to those who i believe are slacking on their shops and they get all upset and defensive but then after 2 days they have a full should, sometimes some members seem as if they are having mood swings which gets me frustrated, but I haven't lost my temper enough to close down the mall!

It does boil down to they are spending their money to upgrade their shop. That's one reason you do have to word things nicely. I like to send out a general "how are you?" message first. If they reply pretty quickly, and still aren't stocked, you could say you were wondering because their stock was getting low. Just getting a mail with no other contact saying your shop sucks can put a lot of people on the defensive. :)

Also, at a size of 77 (which I am currently at) how many of each item is good to stock and how many pages?

Yea I do that too though, Like I say Hey, Hows it going or something like that and then I say your shop is looking good or whatever and then i say that maybe if you could stock 50 more different items your shop would be great! and then they reply saying My Shop looks better then yours and they get mad, meanwhile the reason their shop has more items is because they put non-category items in there which makes it full and I explain that then the next day they neomail me saying ok my shop is it looking ok now and I say yea and then they become like my best friend and start asking me about the mall and how it is going and if we got new members and all the questions which can be answered reading the news section
