Which category is better?
I'm looking to join a mall, either as furniture/gardening or magic/medicine/battle. I'm a foodie originally (always been in the food/bakery category), so both of these categories I'm a bit unfamiliar with. I've heard that furniture/gardening is very profitable, but of course magic/medicine/battle is a faerie quests position and also attracts many people. Which would be better?

I personally would go with Furniture/Gardening. But that's just based on the items. I think those items are prettier and would be more fun to stock =P. *is waiting for Nicole's opinion :P*

Absolutely go for Furniture/Gardening. There is simply more interest in neohomes right now than there is in battling (unfortunately). Plus new items are being released constantly. I know when I was a new player going into Weapons/Magic shops was always very confusing for me and I would never buy anything because I wasn't sure what any of the items did - at least with Neohomes it is all very pretty and even newbies know exactly what to do with the items. Plus, I used to do Furniture/Gardening and I really enjoyed it.

Yeah TNT seems obsessively wrapped up in creating new NeoHome and Wearable items...

I think the reason for that is that the three things that most people on the site spend their points on are the battledome, wearables, and their neohomes. Battling seems to have fallen to the wayside, likely because it's so difficult for someone to get in to it unless they have a giant bank account set up before they start (training, respectable weapons, etc - hugely spendy). But even someone who relies on dailies and games for their neo-income can afford to dress their pet and decorate a neohome....so they focus on those two areas to pull more members in and give the newbies something to do.

I also wish battling wasn't the way it is :/ Back in the day I loved to battle. I had an attack fork, WAF, GLB, I was all set. 7 years later it's junk haha. -------------------- Want to be part of a 4 Mil NB ad? Go Here: http://www.neopets.com/~Lideus Are your pets hungry? Now I'm saving all I can for stuff like GBomb, SoS, H4K, not to mention how expensive full healers are these days..

The old school neohomers are going to murder me in my sleep for saying this - but be sure to start with the v2.0 compatible stuff. The kids know the difference and will look for the little house symbol in the corner. ;) re: battledome. even 2 years ago my set was respectable. this year I am barely worthy of doing 1-player. ;) It's a drag. TNT needs to curb some of the crazy inflation of the things we need the most by putting a 100% healer or even a 50% healer in the HT. And maybe something similar to TTear but not as good - like a once per battle item that blocks 80% of damage. The codestone/negg deflation brought on by keyquest has made me very happy, though.
