First, I don't have SSW. Second, I figure it's not worth my while to sell for a markup that I could get pain-free from my bank interest. Third, if I find I'm selling on shop wiz hits, I feel I'm not taking advantage of the strengths of malling.
So I use a rough sliding scale of markups, starting with 1000 on anything costing under 200 NP (a.k.a. "junk"), most items take a 2000 to 2500 markup, and higher end items are doubled. The closer an item comes to UB level, the lower my markups get again.
This changes a bit for really cool items, limited release prizes, and retired items, because I try to price ahead of the market. Eventually the wiz price will rise to my sellpoint, and I'll kick myself if I haven't hoarded replacements. yuck - that happened today! *winks at gothsunprincess*
I call my strategy "defensive pricing" :D because I don't want to sell more items than I can keep up with. If something's too popular, I raise the price to beat back customers and reduce my workload! LOL --- yes, I'm lazy! I'd rather be battling or finishing NeoQuest or chasing trophies.
Another thing I try to do is use lots of zeros, 1s, 2s, and 4s. They look ... friendlier to me.
I'm really surprised to see all the shops here that stick so close to wiz!
0:-) Aww. Did I buy some of your investments? *lol* Or did you buy some of mine? I can never keep these things straight any more.
My prices are usually 300 nps ish higher for most items, still on the ssw for quest items, and a little higher than ssw for others. -shrugs- It seems my techniques change every time I stock my shop.
I'm only size 40 and and I have some crazy huge markup on some things.
It all depends how you market it. I've been told I'm a good marketer. :D

heh - yeah, well, I was suddenly fresh outta certain fan jerseys ...
NOTE TO SELF: must hoard items before they inflate!
You don't want to know how many of those fan jersey's I have in my SDB.

I go a little bit different then a lot it sounds like. I am +300 of the highest on the SSW. A good 80% of my hits are from SW. I do however only end items in 50 or 100 so different from most people on here. This is because I am after a professional look and it is more convienant for me. If an item is 1-75ish np's I'll probably price at 300 after that is basically a straight 300 over high.
WOW so many different ideas I will have to read over this again a couple more times. THANK YOU to everyone that posted this is really some good reading!
lol Yes I know you very well gothsunprincess I see you frequently ;) I think we trade off in investments from time to time prices have been odd lately. Going up real high then crashing pretty good.
Right now I still got over 100 food items to price at ssw and see if I can get enough nps to get to main market. ;)
gothsunprincess I know our stock is similar what is your opinion on having the fire/air quest items and other odd-n-ends clothes compared to having only wearables?
Does being in a mall make any difference?

Well currently I am not in a mall ;) I am kinda looking for a 4mil mall group. Thought of starting my own but I am totally the wrong time zone for posting. I do manage Mystic Oasis mall but our nb ads are small and from what I got from our stats a waste of nps. BUT not all members want to do 4mil ads :( so I am a pickle in the middle there

You can neomail nursedaybreak to be put on a wait list for TML, the top 2 malls do 4mil ads. We don't have wearables open at the moment, but we do have a sweets spot open in a 4 mil mall.
