For those of you who run 4 mil NB ads...
Do you send out weekly neomails reminding people that the payments are going to be due, or any other updates/info? Why or why not? Personally, I feel it's their responsibility to make their own payments and that I shouldn't have to play mommy to 18 people. The only time I send neomails is when the payment hasn't been made by the night of the due date or later (or to recruit people, obviously). What do you guys think?

I don't mind sending an update to the participants in my advertisement. In fact, I do at least one update (payment due date, new banner graphic, etc.) per 2 weeks to them. It gives me a reassurance that they still want to participate. If not, that makes my life easier on finding a replacement as soon as possible. I really do not get why people recruit the last minute because someone backs out of them the last minute. That's just, I think, dumb in a sense that there should be a due date days way before the advertisement post date. But I guess, having a weekly advertisement does have its negatives. It's not just that, neoemailing them personally even if my neoemails are somewhat generic, gives them the reassurance that I do want their best interests and that I do care for them. I mean, people do forget about due dates and all. No one is perfect. You're in for a surprise. I always mail, because trades have very limited space :P and to make sure that not everyone bids on the same trade I have one set up for each person, so I mail each person down my list as a trade space becomes available. Also many people take part in more than one ad, mailing them saves them having to remember who they are meant to be paying when.

I have due dates for my 3 ads, and I if people havent paid by 1 day before, I neomail them all , reminding them that the fees are due the next day. Most people only pay after the neomail :P I think its good to keep in touch with the participants often =)

I think it's a good idea. It shows you're involved, and it makes sure they pay :). I know I'm terrible in that I usually don't pay until the last day, because I like to have all my finances in order before I go and pay :P

Even when they know the day people forget. I'm a big fan of neomailing. It doesn't make me feel like I'm playing Mommy. People have a lot going on usually in real life to keep up with nb fees on a game. :)

I will be honest.. I am one that forgets until the last day usually. Especially if I am running in more than one ad, or if there have been changes/delays to the ad. It can become confusing when that happens. It is also nice just to get the mail to know the poster is really paying attention, it makes you feel safer spending your points with them when they are in contact with you ;)

I'm in the same boat as Steph, I just don't have a good memory for this kind of thing, especially being on more than 1 ad lol. I don't mind paying days before the ad goes up, if someone will just remind me to :P

Ok, so by mailing them if they haven't paid by the night of the due date I think I am doing fine. I also have seperate trades for everyone and now that the ad includes faerie spots, I think I may send some neomails letting people know the trades are up so I can get them cycling. And sweet, yea, recruiting at the last minute when someone drops out is not ideal. That is where the wait list has come in handy a lot! -------------------- Want to be part of a 4 Mil NB ad? Mailing your mallers or indie 4m advertisers is simply best practice. It's thoughtful and allows the managers to keep in touch with their teams. Not only do I mail when trades are ready, I also put the link to my trades in the NM, so it's... READ COPY PASTE PAY It might be oversimplified, but I think it's polite and professional to follow through when you have put yourself in a leadership postion. Mailing my mallers once a week also allows me to chat a little about what is going on with sales, the last or future posts, or site activity. My weekly mall mail is not only for NB trades it keeps my team motived and on top on the latest in Neopia. There will always be people who forget, or pay late, it's nice when everyone gets in on time, but with a long-term team, you know who you can trust to cover if you need to, or when people go on vacation. If you extend the courtsey of an NM reminder to pay, they are more likely to extend the courtsey of early payment and feel they are more of a "team".
