I know if I want to buy something in a shop that I don't have enough neopoints for I leave the shop open, go to the bank or play a game and come back. (I try not to touch my shop till unless I absolutely have to so I can see if my sales history numbers are accurate. )Also people get distracted with kids, dinner, etc. I even leave my computer on while I am doing laundry and may be in a shop 30 minutes to an hour before I get back on the computer to finish browsing/buying. As for "the thing" not working -- I'm not in a hut so mine definitely works. It works for those in huts too but you have to know that when people are looking at your hut if your shop link is on the page they are looking at they will be counted. I think it's neat to see how many people are looking at my shop, could be looking at my shop are within a click's distance from buying something in my shop, etc. I have every statistic at this point but that one...and because it's the only thing like it I've ever seen I like having it to play with! I espeically love it when I have a 1 np sale -- or some other ETS items underpriced but still profitable. I get to see a side of neopets I never thought of like what if 13 people SW a Mau codestone and my shop has the cheapest one. They all show up to buy it at one time. Fascinating! LOL! And to answer the "how do you know that is what happened?" question. I never have more than 5 people in my shop at one time and I can put a codestone in my shop for lowest on SW/SSW and in about 3 minutes I have 9-15 people.
