I also check my shop visits obsessively. I know that I'm in a good category, just not one that drives the same volume of visits that NH/NG and Clothing/Grooming do. I'd love to see my name at the top, if I could get there and had the time I'd continute the strategy that got me there, it wouldn't make sense to change advertising that works.
In terms of 1np sales, that headline and other shop board posts are a strategy that Nicann (and SO many others) have employed for years. You have to appreciate a headline and offer that works - no matter who's shop it belongs to. I loved it when I could post SSW prices in my shop board headline, my sales volume was insane. 1 np sales, SSW Prices, Restocking with Millions, are just like real life coupons and buy-one get one, and other offers it's just smart advertising.
I lump all nps spent and discounts or underpriced items into "advertising expense" it's not that it's a "loss", it's that they are all "expenses" that drive sales, which hopefully turn into increased shop visits where you make up and see a return on the investment of advertising efforts. If the ROI is less than the expense, you are totally right, change gears, or drop expenses (underperforming NBs or slow selling items) that don't deliver.
Rebuilding the bank after upgrades and inventory is tough, it's awesome you have been able to add three pages malling alone along with additional upgrades. How long has it taken to build back up the 5 pages?
No idea, like 2 weeks maybe? *lol* Should have thought ahead and not sold off my entire stock to help achieve the upgrade, but I didnt want to wait around with so much pure, or upgrade with what I had and end up in the middle of nowhere hut wise :P My original reason for upgrading, along with hut 30 being my eventual goal was all this cging. I had quite a lot of neopoints tied up in just a few items, I figured if I got cged my account could be easily wiped. I figured thieves can't steal a shop size :P
In weeks, that's outstanding. Frank just upgraded for the exact same reason, upgrades to avoid the CG'ers. She's been able to build up pretty quickly too.
