Come to Australia. We have universities here (not colleges like they have in America). There are student loans, which we know as deferred payments, but I believe they're only available to locals. Might be worth checking it out just in case. My focus is on psychology, so I cant help you with any nursing related fields. But our courses mostly have set/core units that must be completed to get the degree, still.. there are a number of slots where you can take any unit at all. They provide a list of suitable/recommended units, but you really can take any other unit; I took some web design units while doing my psych degree, and ended up taking enough creative writing and english units to get me a double major (psych / english). And dealing with people = annoying. Dealing with mentally unstable people = entertaining :P / or maybe I shouldn't say that... // too late.
Yeah. I've started to get my Health Science degree first but then I dropped out of that and started doing Nursing. But if I wanted to, I could get a double major like you. I'm actually thinking of doing that but how long did it take you to get a double major? I really don't want to spend too much time at school as I'm already planning to. I already calculated with the hope of no failures and I will complete my education at the age of 30. That's if, I take 2 year break of working as a nurse first then taking my masters. Oh, and in Australia.... assuming that you are taking student loan there, what is the payment of that? Will you be paying it monthly while you're studying or after you study? Do you need to be a full time student to be accepted for that? Are there any interest fee?

And since you have those under your belt (RPN, etc.), you will not be able to work here if you choose to then?
I don't understand the question. Where is "here"? I am Canadian. I am working a full-time job in Canada. I have no idea what you were trying to ask me.
OH. I thought you were from US. I was asking if you were at US and you have completed your education there, you wouldn't be able to use your education from there if you wanted to work here (Canada)? You already mentioned before that if I had completed my nursing education there at US, I wouldn't be able to work at Canada. But if you complete any education at US and you wanted to work here, you wouldn't be able to use that education you have gotten from US then? Anyways, you don't have to answer all my questions. I thought you were from the US that is why I was intensely asking you about it.

It's really all Dmitri's fault anyway. He bumped the thread, which brought on sweet's inquisitiveness and -your- self-righteous indignation.

If you wanted to do a triple major, it may take a little longer. For multi-majors, you generally have less core units within each major, but still qualify for the degree. The student loans are paid after you graduate, and only once you are working and paying tax. Each time you do your tax, they calculate how much of your wage should go towards the repayments. If you don't earn enough (something like 40k) then you don't pay anything back. The payments start off relatively low, but as you earn more, you pay back a slightly higher percentage of your earnings. So you could essentially get a few degrees under your belt, work part time earning less than the threshold, and never pay back your debt :P some people I know have gotten degrees and then started families. And they don't have the pressure of having to pay back the loan.

I didn't have any idea that people would take umbrage to the thread being reawakened. In any case, it shouldn't really be an issue. We're onto bigger and better things now :)

And no need to defend yourself, you did not start anything.

I just hope that the tuition fee is far less there than it is here because traveling will cost enough money. Maybe I can live with you to subsidize the cost? LOL.
I live in the US and you can get Student AID, Scholarships, Grants, and Loans....and many do not start repayment until after graduated and some circumstances let you slide until you have a job or whatnot...My scholarships pay for most, but the rest I can get financial aid if needed =)
