Running an independent ad is very demanding, yet often very unrewarding.
Finding a filler for the last 1-2 spots is annoying, but it pales in comparison
to the complaints you get (for example - about people wanting this/that spot on a banner or someone
else's position.)
Or even that they don't like someone who is on the banner now.. and just all sorts of silly things.
I'm in the process of revamping mine to be primarily mall based with a few spots for independents.

I don't like the idea of separate priced quest buttons because the quest shops are usually some of the worst-selling categories. People generally only take a quest spot to get into a mall they want to be in. Having an extra button helps to compensate for this. For example, I have a book shop, but my sales history each day is only about 10-20% books. If I couldn't stock some non-category items, I'd be out of business fast. Today I sold more books than usual - 29 so far, but only 3 of those were quest books. I know toys and cards and other quest categories have similar problems. I think Fire Faerie is the only one who doesn't, because most clothing shops are combined with wearables, which sell well.
I guess it depends on how expensive the buttons will be overall. Since most 4 mil NB ad buttons are 250k or less, I'm expecting your buttons to be around the same. I don't think I'd want to pay that plus another 50-70k for the corresponding quest button. That's placing an extra burden on a poor-selling category. Just my two cents - but I'll admit that I'm biased, since I have a quest shop. :P

I am a quest shop also covering the Light Faerie so will be paying just that bit extra myself. With only 15 buttons the cost is over the 260k and if by making the Faerie links a little extra it will reduce the cost slightly for people who don't have the advantage of these extra links. If a shop doesn't want to cover the Faerie Quests it will be open to anyone that wants the link and at a smaller fee there should not be to much problem finding a shop that would want page 1 exposure, especially some of the smaller shops that cannot afford large NB fees. (Info is on petpage). One way to look at it is, if buyers are on a Faerie Quest they can't use the SW so may head to the Market Place or the Notice Board for their purchases. First priority for the Faerie Quest links would go to the main cat shops and only if they choose not to cover the quest links would they then become open.
The latest that I have been working on and again am after some input & guide with the setup/running as this is new ground for me and I want to get it right from the beginning but so far the hardest thing I have found is coming up with a name. *unsure*

I am going to be doing Luck soon and would be interested in that spot (: However on your ad it is paired with Training which I will not be stocking so I don't know how that would be worked out.
At this stage button names are customizable I can make the Neggs into luck only if you so wished unless you wanted to group some other item not already covered and then training can stand alone by itself
My shop will be Luck only so if that could be the name of the button (or maybe Luck & Neocola Tokens; people love those) that'd be great. Either is fine, thanks (: and GL finding more people.
