I once had three guppies. Then I had 27 :D I loved watching them grow and see what colors they would be. I guess incest took over and all of them died after becoming several months old :( My English teacher came up with the idea of keeping three fish in the classroom and naming each one after a dead poet. Once all of them died, we would have a test on those three poets. After two tests she got three fish that just wouldn't die :P They eventually did though. One was named Bram Stoker and he actually died while we were watching him. The teacher took it out of the tank, laid it out on a desk, poked it a few times while blowing at its face, threw it back in the tank, and it lived 2 more days *lol* Once the year ended I brought Jane Austen and George Steinbeck home with me. They're still alive after a year and a half. Fear the Dracula fish!

I would take some of the guppies out and start another tank. They do not need much room and then I quit that so the big ones would eat some of the new baby ones so there wouldn't be so many. They are very easy to care for but most fish dont really live long anyway.

I just got home from dissecting a cat. I wonder how many people I would offend if I said it was quite fun?
i bet dissecting dogs would even more fun ;)
I've always wanted to taste dog... --- Step outside, take a breath of fresh air, then look down to see if you have a new text message.

hmmm it seems this topic has become a "get to know each others pets" topic. Oh well, might as well join the fun :O I have 2 dogs, 5 cats, 5 Fire Bellied Toads, 7 (last time I counted) guinea pigs (they breed like... guinea pigs), and my sister recently moved to Norway, so we're looking after her cat and dog as well until she settles in and finds somewhere with space for the pets. BTW, does anyone know of a snake that doesn't need to eat mice? I can handle crickets (already put up with them for the toads) but my mom - refuses - to keep something in the house that I have to feed mice.

I'm timid around cats because when I was younger my cat Lexie got scared and she ran up to me and every thing went black and my face an my hand was burning so I got my mom she said I was bleeding so I went to see. My cheek my hand, the inside of my ear and my earlobe. Lexie was put to sleep (she was murdered). Now I have three scares one on my hand two on my ear. About a month later a mole grew on the scar. The most pets we have had at one time is 3 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 29+gallon fish tanks full of fish. Now we have 1 dog and 1 39 gallon fish tank.

If its a matter of the squealing and stuff.. you can get prekilled mice. Corn snakes start out on pinkies and eventually need adult mice, but they're usually pretty good about taking the prekilled/frozen type food. That way you don't have to keep buying live ones and watching them die. (I find it a little disturbing myself, since I've had mice as pets before as well.) Otherwise, there are some really awesome small lizards you could have that are just as nifty as snakes and don't require mammals for dinner. -- spooneh! -- Ninjas versus Pirates is a conspiracy theory to distract us from the real battle between Unicorns and Dragons. Ninjas and Dragons FTW.

The first time I fed him a mouse the mouse crawled all over him for about 15 minutes before he ate him. I thought it would bother me but it really didn't that much. I only had to feed him once per week. Here's a funny story: I woke up in the middle of the night hearing really loud farting and I thought it was my husband. Then there was a horrendous smell so I woke my husband up to get him to stop it *lol*. It was the snake! We had a good laugh about that. And yes, the snake's aquarium was in our bedroom. We had to keep our college text books on the top of the cage to keep him from getting out. It is never fun looking for a lost snake around the house! I was always afraid I'd think I saw Sampson, reach in and grab him and then realize it was a wild snake! *ewww* ~ Mimi ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ Mimi's Ménagerie ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc
