It's a small button at the bottom of the page - while it may increase sales for MM malls, it find it hard to believe it will CRIPPLE the economy of all other shops.
Mini malls get a majority of hits via the shop wizard, boards, and maybe noticeboard advertisements.
These things can all still be used - so in reality, it has absolutely no relevance on getting people *INTO* your store.
After all, getting them inside is the HARD part.
Granted, they may eventually click 'Go back to the shops' when they're done with your shop, but at that point they've finished acquiring what they need from you.
And another thing, I made most of my neopoints from very wise investments, reselling, restocking - and the stock market.
I still utilize all of these still to keep a very stead income flow. I suggest anyone complaining about not having neopoints try this as well.
You can easily hit main market if you try hard enough, something many of us have worked incredibly hard to do.

No one has complained about not having neopoints.. :P
Another way of looking at it is that it may take users away from your mall system.. They come into your shop don't see much they want or buy a few items they do want then instead of clicking on the mall banner after they have scrolled to the bottom just click back to the shops.
Something positive from TNT, sweet! I'm about to break even in terms of upgrade cost vs malling payout too, so this is very welcomed. Can't believe I'm saying this and not being sarcastic, but THANKS TNT!
That does bring up a point to be made after reading through - yes, mallers have an advantage yadda yadda, but most of us won't break even on our investment for 1-2 years after joining a mm mall. That's a long time to be waiting to be just breaking even on an investment. I'm speaking of course for those of us in the 600-800 range; not sure how long it takes to break even for those size 1000+ shops that cost something like 100m+.
Yeah i didnt do Mini malling... Auction snipe mostly and reselling got me enough for main market which was size 500 back in the days *lol* I still resell here and there and my biggest hobby.... Investing! I love investing *hugs gallery/trades/sdb* I still auction snipe at night here and there when im bored

They complained about not being MM due to the cost, so to me yeah, it's complaining about neopoints.
I'm not going to go back and critique every single post for you, but even you have posted comments in regards to cost.
I'm just offering solutions for anyone who is truly having an issue with upgrading.
I can pretty much help anyone who is struggling make neopoints who is willing to listen and take some advice.
I know I mentioned costs but I mentioned that I am spending almost everything I make in upgrading.. not unlike all other larger shops when they started out. I am by no means struggling to make neopoints and together with buying my stocks every day, squirreling a bit away into my bank and I have managed over 200 upgrades in the last 2 months. I am not looking forward to spending more but at the moment that is my main aim so it is something that I will be doing. I don't think it is complaining but stating that I am working hard to get there.
Sounded like complaining to me :P
I do agree the requirements to get into main are getting insane though. Back when I busted a gut to get to main the size required was 490.
Now I need to panic even more that i'm spending all my time studying and almost no time stocking :K
