Ok if it sounds like I am complaining I must have been *lol* My bad. Just trying to express a view that the benchmark for the main market may grow quicker now.. Maybe not and who knows only time will tell. I agree though with one thing that has been mentioned here that any account that has not been used in a period of time should not show.. We would have a far better indication of active shop sizes... If the user logs in again then reactivate it..

I love the idea of flagging the shops with nothing in them and if they never have any shop activity for a while then nix them from the market! I agree that this is a positive step by TNT and provides an incentive for upgrading. I was beginning to wonder "why" go through all the neopoints to get to mm when sales are miserable, ad results stink, etc. until you get to a mm mall... and even then it can still be work if you're in a crappy category...so now TNT has added another incentive to keep upgrading something I think we all needed. And yeah, it will be harder for those of us new-ish players but life always gets more complicated instead of easier so what is the surprise? We just gotta roll with it and the new competition button at the bottom of everyone's page just means that we have to work harder to keep people in our shops/malls. _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc

i dont like the idea of removing inactive shops since it will ruin hut positioning of 90 and above completely. anyways having a high mm size keeps the competition low which is good. its already chaotic lol. but i doubt this will bring any changes. any benefits will be cancelled out by the distraction at the bottom

I wonder how this will affect sales for items that aren't on the first page. It might be more tempting to click on the Back to the Shops button instead. I consider myself lucky to stock PBs and MPs

This is definitely an interesting addition. And my sales can use all the help they can get right now - the last week or so has been horrible. And I also didn't get to MM through malling, though I did start out in mini malls. I just got impatient and sold some items I had been saving over the years that significantly increased in value. I've been in MM just about a year now, and the minimum was around the 560s this time last year, I think.

Well, at my size, I have to hate the new button. I do believe it will negatively impact the whole reason for being in a mall (people click the mall banner to browse around) and I also agree that it will make reaching main market size a faster moving target, which may even render it impossible for those who don't have a lively enough internet connection to restock from the shops, etc. for profits. As for removing the dead or inactive shops, I think they absolutely have to do that one of these days. Yea, it will jostle the top shops around, but they are, after all, top shops so they can afford a little jostling. LOL! And it's not fair to the customers to keep clicking on shops only to find them empty or frozen. That's a terrible system. All shops displayed in the marketplaces need to be active and stocked. That's only fair. Sorry, Dmitri! :P ~ Love books? Please visit my bookshop. :) http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=lolooma

Just because i've pumped over 250 mil into my shop size doesn't mean I can afford for my position to be shifted. When shifts happen at my size they also then cost a good 10 - 50 mil to fix by upgrading to the top of the next hut, I can't afford to just randomly click away that sort of np :P ___________ Kirsty, aka evil super mod Sniper, maller, restocker Silverdragon siggy stealer Best wearables shop owner ever!

It's also good for the people in malls with someone in main. Woo! (I may get an extra hit or two from it :P)

Uhh no. If i get screwed in my hut, the next upgrade costs over 100 million neopoints. I dont have 100 million NP lying around unless you're willing to cough it up lol And only a couple shops are empty. the frozen ones dont even show up anymore. Empty shops are also critical to advanced hut positioning too. P.S. The majority of my upgrade fund to main market is from stockmarket and investment - something that does not require a hi-speed internet connection. I only started restocking in 2008, which then in turn funded my upgrades to 1200
