Hits Vs. Sales
So, I have a friend that is debating me because I said that we have about 10 shops getting less than 20 hits a day (in the Nursery Malls)...and those are just the ones registered with Neomallers..No idea about the others. She is saying 'hits have nothing to do with profits'. Well, I can semi understand that, but then...When everyone else is getting around a 100 and there are some with 7, is there not a problem? Maybe prices too high? Crappy items stocked? We already have things against us, being we are a mini mall...but if these people are paying 20-50k every 2 weeks for a NB ad that gets you like 10 hits, tops, won't they have a bigger chance of leaving, since even if they get 10 hits a day, they are not making lots? Ugh, anyone understand? Kind of irritated, but you know how that goes :* Updating news pages and trying to recruit is good, but don't we need to help current members succeed first and foremost? I think if anything they will leave if they think they are losing..which I have had LOTS of Mallers say to me before when running a branch..that they were too broke to be in a Mall. I know Malling costs a lot, but there should be profits too. Ok, point given. Any thoughts? =)

She rephrased, lol. "Shop hits do not NECESSARILY equal profits. It can but, it can also just be people looking at your shop." But that could also mean those 20 hits could be from other mall members looking, and so they SERIOUSLY need help with their shop, too, right?
for a NB ad that gets you like 10 hits
Definitely not worth it. And hits dont always mean good sales either. You can lots of hits and still get crap hits and vice versa. But generally speaking, low hits tend to mean low overall performance. Some categories like paint is such a noob attractor and will gain tons of hits but because noobs cant afford anything with their 250 np, they wont buy anything. wasted hit right there. NB ads tend to attract poor noobs too. So lots of wasted hits from that --------------------------------------------- Decorate your V2 Tent and supersize with Irisheyez Direct http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=irisheyez

I definitely think it is not worth it, but hey it prepares them or whatnot...but yeah I understand. But if saying hits could mean nothing, they could be useless, well then the 10 hits could be useless 'lookers' and they could not be getting any profits. What I mean is if I see a shop that could use work, I try to work with the person on getting new items, pricing, etc. I am not the perfect Maller, but I like to help. Like I was working with Brandi, and had lots of fun! But in the end, I think if you see 10 shops getting crappy hits, something needs to be fixed.
no not quite understanding how to get it so confused LOL
Definitely read the guides. Go to the top, hit 'Sales Tracker' then 'Professional Edition' then 'tutorials', guides, FAQs, then you should be good. If not, ask away here! It is AMAZING =)

But who is to say that those 10 members are getting AMAZING shop-til-you-drop shoppers buying them out? So I bet they are not making much, if any. I know I have more than 10 people buying per day, just from my Sales History...and I have O.K. profits, for me. But I just think general concern should be on the current members and helping them succeed and prepare to grow into Market sizes and malls.
