Maybe the global recession is to blame. Honestly, what family would allow their child to play games online all day when they are struggling for money? Trust me, their are millions more who are having trouble now than there was a few years back when there were load more people playing neopets. I don't think neopets will ever come out of it's recession until the global economy does first. But anywho, poor petpet supplies for having no use. :(:P
I think I joined Neopets back when I was 11 but either way I have a sister who is 14 now - so 9 years later looking to see what her and her friends are into, Neopets was never one. I just think its not as popular anymore with certain age groups so whatever reason. Perhaps its not being marketed the right way - who knows. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=evilbluemunkeyz
Kids are growing up faster. They are into more and more of the older things, earlier and earlier. And petsites are the same way. Its geared for a younger crowd, or a much older crowd that finds the adult stuff in it. I always tell people that I play a game in a virtual economy. --Manic http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=tehubermanic

Yeah, it seems to me that when I first started playing, there were young children and then there were adults. Now it seems like there are teenagers and adults. Even though Viacom seems to be heavily advertising towards children, it seems I hardly see any anymore. Maybe I need to take a quick visit to the newbie chat to fix this. x)

It's all people thinking they're really famous and posting boards with their names in them. I just find it ridiculous. lol http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=evilbluemunkeyz

Haha..I see the same thing. Saw 7 topics with people who think they are famous, and 2 'pants on the ground' topics. :P All on the first page, I might add. (;

I blame a lot of it to Face Book as well. Even my wife spends more time there now than on Neo... They have taken possibly a lot of users away. Neopets doesn't have games that you can save and expand in the way FB does.. The games at neopets really are meaningless.. All I do is play enough to get me 15k a day to buy my shares so I turn my game points to profits. Recession or Depression. Well it is depressing when I put heaps of work into my shop and see little return in the way of big sales. So I say Depression *lol*

You don't see children because they are not allowed to contact people. It is against the law if you are 13 years or younger. That's why you only see teens or adults chatting on the boards. ____________________________________ Looking for a new mall? The Lucky Mega Mall is the answer! I was 11 when I started playing, and it was very easy for me to persuade my mom to sign the form ("It's kids gaming site, mom!") and get my grandfather to fax it in. I had permission by 8 p.m. my time that same night. My 8 year old cousin also got her parents to sign it. *** Current shop size: 129/700 www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall! www.neopets.com/~Mynynae - Places to Go, Things to See!

God, I don't know what I would do if/when Neo shuts down. I'm homeschooled, so I'm online pretty much 24/ 7 *lol* and without my Neo-breaks in between school work I'd go insane. I might have to take up smoking or something just for an excuse to take a break! lol And yeah, sales have really gone down. Today I didn't make crap, same for the last few days. I even lowered a whole crapload of prices hoping sales would increase, but no such luck. :( I heard a rumor about a Neopets movie too. I think it will get a lot more players on Neo, so maybe that'll help with sales.

I was 10 when I started playing and it was all because of a friend that said "Whitneeeeeeeeeeeey its such a cool game you have to play it with me!!!" lol then I started playing and got addicted and I got most of my friends to play but they stopped ^.^ Neopets is my number 1 hobby as well. I would be devastated if it shut down. It is such a sad thought(its not helping that my brother is playing 'Let her Cry') @James: petpet supplies have no point what so ever and they are ugly! It makes my shop look so ughh. I keep them to a minimum. I really hope there is a movie and that Viacom starts advertising properly. I see advertisements everwhere but it is not attracting the right crowd such as the virtual gamers. My virtual gamers would play the game as well but they say its too babyish. Boo them.

Boo them.
Well, maybe if they made more games like NQ... But instead they're focusing on KQ (another thing that is majorly deflating prices of everything!) and this PetPetPark thing, which in all honesty, has already been done by GaiaOnline and their virtual worlds, so why is Viacom reinventing the wheel, so to speak? Plus they're putting all their focus into the NC Mall, instead of fixing glitches, the CGers (wonder how many people quit/took an indefinite hiatus after they saw that news report?) updating the BD (I also wonder how many people are taking an indefinite hiatus until the BD gets upgraded?) and making more NP items, not NC items (I wonder how many KIDS quit playing when they realized they're never going to be able to pay for Premium/NC Cash, and their parents can't afford it, etc... and they think that's unfair?). BUT, with the recent release of some of the backlogged items, this does mean they are taking a step forward in the right direction, but how many steps does it take to walk the Earth? It's going to take a while for them to do all that stuff, IF they even do it at all. And there is my two cents. *** Current shop size: 129/700 www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall! www.neopets.com/~Mynynae - Places to Go, Things to See!
