You don't see children because they are not allowed to contact people. It is against the law if you are 13 years or younger. That's why you only see teens or adults chatting on the boards. ____________________________________ Looking for a new mall? The Lucky Mega Mall is the answer! I was 11 when I started playing, and it was very easy for me to persuade my mom to sign the form ("It's kids gaming site, mom!") and get my grandfather to fax it in. I had permission by 8 p.m. my time that same night. My 8 year old cousin also got her parents to sign it. *** Current shop size: 129/700 www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall! www.neopets.com/~Mynynae - Places to Go, Things to See!
Haha good point. I forgot about that form. :P ____________________________________ Looking for a new mall? The Lucky Mega Mall is the answer!

I was 10 when I started playing and it was all because of a friend that said "Whitneeeeeeeeeeeey its such a cool game you have to play it with me!!!" lol then I started playing and got addicted and I got most of my friends to play but they stopped ^.^ Neopets is my number 1 hobby as well. I would be devastated if it shut down. It is such a sad thought(its not helping that my brother is playing 'Let her Cry') @James: petpet supplies have no point what so ever and they are ugly! It makes my shop look so ughh. I keep them to a minimum. I really hope there is a movie and that Viacom starts advertising properly. I see advertisements everwhere but it is not attracting the right crowd such as the virtual gamers. My virtual gamers would play the game as well but they say its too babyish. Boo them.
Well, maybe if they made more games like NQ... But instead they're focusing on KQ (another thing that is majorly deflating prices of everything!) and this PetPetPark thing, which in all honesty, has already been done by GaiaOnline and their virtual worlds, so why is Viacom reinventing the wheel, so to speak? Plus they're putting all their focus into the NC Mall, instead of fixing glitches, the CGers (wonder how many people quit/took an indefinite hiatus after they saw that news report?) updating the BD (I also wonder how many people are taking an indefinite hiatus until the BD gets upgraded?) and making more NP items, not NC items (I wonder how many KIDS quit playing when they realized they're never going to be able to pay for Premium/NC Cash, and their parents can't afford it, etc... and they think that's unfair?). BUT, with the recent release of some of the backlogged items, this does mean they are taking a step forward in the right direction, but how many steps does it take to walk the Earth? It's going to take a while for them to do all that stuff, IF they even do it at all. And there is my two cents. *** Current shop size: 129/700 www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall! www.neopets.com/~Mynynae - Places to Go, Things to See!
I agree with you on that completely. Like i said on another thread, TNT cares too much about implementing the NC part into every site activity. Spend some time making the activity better itself. The last plot was the most crappiest and lamest plot I have ever experienced in my neo career. I mean come on tnt, you can do better than that. And I don't understand why they don't update the battledome. i used to battledome A LOT but now I just dont anymore. It gets boring and I feel useless defeating challengers since TNT doesn't give a shit about the BD. Why? Because you can't make money from it. How sad. I don't understand why they can't even add a single new challenger. It's been over 2 years. I know of some people who quit neopets because they got "bored" of the site. It is obvious that the site is turning into something for "7 year olds" and i am very disappointed in that fact. This site was first intended for college students believe it or not. In my opinion Neopets is going down hill. ____________________________________ Looking for a new mall? The Lucky Mega Mall is the answer! Think about how long it's taking them to convert Neohome items and Clothes into Wearables. Think about how long Neopia has gone without a decent plot (Nevermind the Altador Cup), and then we get one, but it's really not all that great. Who knows, maybe TNT is slowly starting to get to the things that we've been screaming for for years to do... and that includes the BD. However, there are much more important things that they could/should be working on more than anything, and that's our security, and not just in the form of CGers (although that should be top priority). Twice I've upgraded my shop in a mass upgrading spree, the nps went through, but I didn't gain a size. Several of my friends never use the TP anymore, because of the glitch for the people 6 years and up. Several people have had items disappear out of their shops/TP lots gone. You know, someone should say all of this to TNT, but I'd be too afraid that I'd get my account frozen or something. *** Current shop size: 129/700 www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall! www.neopets.com/~Mynynae - Places to Go, Things to See!

They can't even fix anything on the free side of the site... Invalid Security tickets when you go to your account settings via the webmail prevents me accessing it using FF I have to use IE.. Been notified and was going to be done soon... (7 months ago) The toolbar not compatible.. The broken hut in Island Market.. and probably a lot more that I am unaware of

Besides all of the wonderful reasons given thusfar, the security issues (cookie grabbers) and slew of frozen accounts left a very bad taste in people's mouths. It is a strong person or an addicted person who can come back from that! The way TNT handled that situation was just pathetic -- every single day I saw people who'd lost their accounts and were rebuilding...people who were fed-up with neo and giving all their items away. It's one thing to lose your account (terrible, terrible, terrible) but it's another when your real life bank account and tax records and computer are at risk. As for the real world economy: I have found great personal solace in my ability to buy extravagantly on Neopets to off-set my feelings of, "The world economy stinks, people are out of work, starving, etc." It's been a great escape and wonderful alternate universe to live in. My kids are even happy with Neo gifts when they can't have real money items. Also, I think more families are playing games instead of eating out and what-not. Granted they are probably playing Wii, PS, and whatever. Bottom-line, I blame Neopets because any good company finds a way to create business opportunities no matter what is going on. I so agree that the free-side of the game should always outshine the for profit side. The free things is what makes you want to spend money...not the other way around. Are you kidding me? Think if someone walked up to you on the street and tried to sell you a picture on the internet....or there was a commercial on TV about it? Now, if you hook me on the concept first (virtual pets, clothes, food, etc.) and then tell me I can have more stuff I can't get unless I pay...yeah, I'll consider it. ~ Mimi temps_bons graphics ~ http://www.neopets.com/~Mimi_Miaulement

Strongly agree with every post in this thread :o I just think one of the most contributing factors is the rise of newer, more fun, better, more interesting, cooler games. What is IN right now are MMORPG's, Facebook, Plants Vs. Zombies LOL!, Consoles. And Neopets can't keep up. Agree with someone who posted that Neopets is very hard to learn at start, which might offset the newbies. If the Battledome would be like Pokemon (lol), I think that would bring more newbies to play - since they know what they WANT to do from the start. If new people go to Neopets and see every crap bombarded in a single page, of course they would leave and find something else that they wouldn't take so much time to learn. The main page is just not working at all, IMO. I personally have no time for Neopets but my shop. :/ Seriously. _______________________________________________ Bugsy's GUIDE to Effective SHOPKEEPING and MALLING: Version 3: Learn More About Hut Positioning http://www.neopets.com/~bugsy_lenny

I was thinking about things like Facebook drawing people away too. Adam & Donna's game on there has 6+ million monthly users, and I'm sure that at least some of them are from Neo. Now, if they ever get around to creating that new pet site they've been talking about for about 2 years now, that might be interesting. Though everything else seems to be on the back burner for them since their FB game became so successful. And it's sad when a much smaller site like Subeta can do plots better than Neo (we had a real war :o), though their plots still aren't perfect either. Yes, the user base is smaller but so is their staff, and resources. Almost all the battlers I've run into over there are people who became tired of waiting for BD improvement over on Neo. (Though they're bored there now too since Subeta's battle system is undergoing a revamp.)

Island Paradise is the more popular one. They also just started Little Rock Pool. Their company is Meteor Games.
