ATTENTION ALL 1NP AUCTIONS PEOPLE!

I would suggest not doing 1np auctions for a while. Someone just managed to hack into my neofriend list and place a bid on each of my auctions - luckily Kirsty outbid them and the pbs are safe. Not long after I'd removed and blocked them, they did the same thing again on a new account. The usernames were fake22pen and hi_w_s. So yeah, BEWARE.

Yes he did. I won't report this to neopets because knowing TNT, they will freeze my account and I won't be able to get my account back..if ever. The account name show that the account is a newbie. I don't know the method on how he did it though. The only reason I can think of is that neopets database has been breached. And no matter what password is set, they can retrieve it and make the account changes themselves. They are able to create new accounts (it is a free site), so the username they use isn't important. It is that they are still able to do as they please. I hope I didn't lose too much....

I don't think they are accessing peoples accounts to do this, or else more would be being taken than simple bids on paint brushes. I think they are exploiting outside of the account somehow. I don't think Chris reported either *unsure* the accounts were also "newbie"

That's really horrible. Thanks for the heads-up - my guild does 1np auctions all the time, though usually not for items over 50k or so.

I'm sure it's the same person. And like Kirsty said, they are probably not accessing the accounts themselves (since I still have all my pure, items etc) but instead they found some kind of backdoor to access everyone's NF list. Much like how people a while back could access anyone's neomails. Thanks all. Hey Mr Silver Dragon, I just thought of something. We both had auto deny neofriends. It might have something to do with that. With some thinking, I believe I will continue with 1np auctions but uncheck the auto deny neofriends. I recently disabled neofriends request a few days ago. Did you also have denied neofriends request at the time the person added themselves as your neofriends?
