Advice...Should I switch from foods/drinks to bakery?
I am not sure as to what spot I want but I am pretty sure that the mall I am currently in has open spots, frozen shops and such...As result since I have joined traffic hasnt been great. The manager is currently busy and needs someone to take over the recruiting but school is starting for me in a week and I would really like to get settled in. Have applyed for a couple spots, also petpets, grooming are other spots that are currently open in the mall I am intersted in joining. I need your honest opinion on which spot in your opinion has the most traffic and if I should even consider switching.

food and drinks > bakery simple ;) bakery is very crap exposure alone and should only be stocked if you have your heart set on it and are willing to put the work in

I so agree. I stock both now but have sold each as separate categories and the only time i have done halfway decent with bakery/sweets is when combined with food/drinks. There is no way as a main market shop that I would sell bakery/sweets as a stand alone category.

Thanks for the input:) How about petpets? How does that do traffic wise?

I do not really know about petpets. I have never sold that category. I have been malling for the last 4 years and only seriously the last two years but I have done grooming/clothes, wearables/backgrounds, battle/magic/medicine, and all the food categories. IMO with what I have sold Weaqrables/backgrounds was the most fun and profitable but found I needed to check prices all the time because of flucuating(sp) prices and was too time consuming for me, for me i have done well with grooming/clothes and all the food categories and really enjoy those categories. I did battle/magic/medicine when i first started malling and when neopets had lots of plots so it was very profitable for me then not sure how it is now.

I've never stocked petpets either, but I live with my boyfriend who used to stock petpets and his till was never that great. It gets good exposure mall wise with the right graphics, but it sure isn't where the sales are.

Not sure how well grooming does by itself as I have always done it with clothes but I do know it is a profitable quest category.
