You renamed the folder without renaming the ini file (Which stores critical database structural information) inside. For instance, if your folder was called food and renamed it to rotten_food, then you just rename the food.ini file inside it to rotten_food.ini hope this helps

I don't know if this has been mentioned before and I don't know how hard it would be to do, BUT.... For all those people who sell items at less than 1000 np and it doesn't get recorded, what about a feature that, when you submit your shop front and it records what items are gone and how many, it asks if those items were sold and you can click yes or no and it records it at the mall price?

that has been suggested many times but it will not work since for that to work, you need to keep on top of the updating aspect of it. Suppose you have 5 in stock, sell 3, and restock 2, portal will assume only 1 sold. It just makes things complicated and we already have a vast number of people who have trouble reading bold prints, etc so it's best to not even go that route :P

Then I moved it to a different location and then upgraded it there. I moved the whole profile folder from the other location to the new one and kept everything inside the profile foler as it was before. _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc

Well whatever you did, the part of the code that tells the portal the database has already been updated (to portal 6.8.1) from the very very old 5.0 version is lost so its trying to do it again

I understand you leaving it out then

Here's what I did: -- Joined Neomallers, downloaded 5.0 version -- created "Food" profile -- entered 1200 items. -- 7.0 Release, did nothing, 7.2 Release: Joined a mall, switched categories, created "Avatars" profile on a core version saved to a different folder and upgraded to 7.2 (I left the original "Food" profile alone so I could go back if I wanted / needed to.) -- 8.0 Release: Saved core version to a different file and upgraded to 8.0 so I didn't lose the Food profile in 5.0 or the Avatar profile in 7.2 while I figured-out how to use the newest version (I wait until the first bug fix before I move my database over to that version) -- 8.2 Release: Upgraded 5.0 version (somehow) in folder 1; Upgraded 7.2 version in folder 2. Now -- I simply cut the users folder named "Avatars" from the 7.2 folder and pasted it to the folder with the 8.2 program. That profile works fine in 8.2. The problem occurred with moving the "Food" user folder from the location of 5.0 to 8.2 -- I thought maybe I should upgrade it to 7.2 first and that gives me the same result -- doesn't work. Is there a way to upgrade a 5.0 user profile to 8.2 at this point? I don't have the 5.0 program any longer -- I upgraded that all the way to 8.2 -- now I have a "Food" profile that can't be read by any of the programs I have. :( _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc
saved to a different folder
so basically what you did was rename the folder without changing the ini file inside. That's why the database system was corrupted. you have to change the files inside too (more specifically the ini file)

(the specific user folder I thought, but not in there) I should tell you too that I have a lot of other files saved with the portal (everything I downloaded so I knew what I had added to my computer versus what came with it) and it is getting confusing in there (so I did what you told me to do on the download page -- put it as c:\neomallers (FINALLY) *don't hate me Incase it needs to be explained further, LOL *cry* LOL! c:\downloads\neomallers portal 5.0 -- c:\downloads\neomallers portal 5.0\users\Food c:\...\mydocuments\mydownloads\neomallers portal 7.0 -- c:\...\mydocuments\mydownloads\neomallers portal 7.0\users\Avatars c:\neomallers\neomallers portal 8.2 -- c:\neomallers\neomallers portal 8.2\users\Food (doesn't work) -- c:\neomallers\neomallers portal 8.2\users\Avatars (works great) Thank you for not screaming at me yet. I would plead that I am blonde but I am not. _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc
