It's nice to have a second opinion from you too may! :)
I like toys and I know some other cattegories are much easier or more profitable, but I can't seem to sell anything else, I feel lost xD
My profits are great, better then expected, and restocking only takes me 20 minutes a day. Bulk stocking ftw :) I don't even bother stocking anything else, as it won't sell anyways.. Like my leftover petpets. They've been 15k under SSW and still no one wants to buy them. It's all about pricing and advertising.

Hey, can you please describe what bulk restocking means? I know you buy in bulk so you can just toss them in from your SDB, but what is the process? Do you open the SDB page by category and go down and click "remove one" or do you type in a number to remove and submit them all at once? Do you search for each item individually in your SDB? What exactly do you do? Restocking in 20 minutes seems amazing to me. I spend 2-3 hours a day restocking! :o ~ Love books? Here's how I bulk restock. I buy 20 to 30 of an item from Neopian shops. When I look at my sales history and see something's sold (the portal should make this easy) then I just go to my SDB and pull it out. For example, if I have sold 5 Ultimate Burgers, I would go to my SDB, type in Ultimate Burger and remove 5. Just like that. Much faster than searching through the wiz to restock. You can also bulk restock off the wiz if you buy up everything below your selling point. Say you sell something for 15,000 nps. The cheapest on the wiz are about 10,000 nps and then there's a few at 13,000 and up. You could buy all the 10,000 nps ones and sell them for 15,000, and you've just made a 5k profit on each.

I buy from SSW, but it's the same process, just a tad faster then SW.. Since most of my prices are under 1000np, I'm so thankfull I can use the amazing portal. Whatever is out of stock (all depending on the item), I buy at least 4 - 10 of from SW, sometimes as much as over 100 at a time. That's usually only 5 - 10 items that's out of stock. So basicly, I have restocked. Of every item I have like 20 - 100 spares from in my SDB (I have these shopping sprees..), but they just sit there and rot tbh. I restock in bulk from SSW, that way, I can always make sure that I'm not selling under it's real value. My profit margin is rather small, compared to bigger shops. Once a week or so, I also restock from SDB. Everything that's low in stock, only having 1 or 2 left (up to 300 items sometimes *cry*) I get out of SDB. Copy past the name, search. Withdraw your amount and voila. Takes just as little time as SW. When I have a lot of time, I go haggle for the cheapest toys at the toy shop, where I can make good profits on them. They end up in SDB aswell, as those are bought in bulk aswell. My timezone is perfect for it. :) Those items have a little text in the portal so I know I really have to restock from SDB. Those petpets you can have for 50k if you like. They are taking up space :(

When you buy 20 or 30 items at a time, don't you get stuck when prices drop? Or are you marking them up enough that it doesn't matter? Some of the items I restock can jump around as much as 25k in a weeks time, so I try to sell them fast, before the prices jump. I never found any petpets in your shop. I looked at all the pages. I just looked again and still don't see any. They must be hiding among all those plushies. :P ~ Love books? Please visit my bookshop. :) http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=lolooma

I usually buy 20 or 30 of an item I know I'm going to sell out on that week. My prices are pretty reasonable for not being lowest on the wiz and some don't even show up on the wiz, but since my prices are reasonable, they get sold still. I try not to go over 50 per item since sometimes prices do fluctuate a lot. But most of the items I bulk buy are under 1,000 nps, and I usually make around a 45% to 50% profit on each item sold. For items 5,000 and over, I try not to stock more than 5 of each item in my SDB and I only sell 1 of that item at a time. This way, I price my item on the shop wiz every time I restock it, to make sure I'm getting the most nps for my item. For me, it's a guessing game of what will sell well. Someone was trying to get rid of sardines on the shop boards once, at a price lowest on the shop wiz. It wasn't something I had sold before, but I bought them and marked them up 20,000 in the hopes that someone would buy them. And someone did buy them, so yay! Just because someone is selling something lowest on the wiz doesn't mean you'll be able to make a profit so restocking off the shop/SSW is a little like gambling at times. There is no sure way of knowing if you will lose or gain nps when selling an item because the market does fluctuate. The most you can do is study shop wiz trends and selling trends of items in your shop and be aware of current plots/avatars, then make an educated guess of what will sell and how much you can price it for. Sorry for rambling.

Not rambling at all :) And these comments bear a likeness to how I stock items. But I hoard hundreds of each item. I'm a little surprised to see that general shopkeepers are bulk buying items like this; not that it's unusual, but that the time benefits make it worthwhile. One thing I had previously wondered is whether buying items and pushing the price up is against the rules. And I say thing because some people may be wondering, but there was an editorial some time ago that specified that as long as the intention isn't to push the price up, then bulk buying is perfectly fine; even buying thousands of the item. TNTs concern is more with people working together to push prices up. So, no working in cahoots. :) (this is why I'll rarely say which items are a good investment)

nahh it was only stated you're not allowed to group inflate an item however you're still permitted to buy as many items as you like.
