Should I upgrade or buy a G-bomb?

Hello all, I have a little dilemma that I've been thinking for over a week now. I just reached my goal of getting enough neopoints to buy a "Ghostkerbomb" (G-bomb) which is 7.35M in the trading post. Initially, I wanted to get this item for no apparent reason. Although it might sound like there is no actual purpose, I just really want to get that item and not think about it later. Kind of like, I just want to get it over with. Then there's the other side of me is thinking that if I spent that much neopoints on my upgrades, I would have a shop size of 482. I've checked the hut and I would only be willing to upgrade to 475 because of better hut positioning. I haven't upgraded in awhile because my initial goal was to get enough neopoints to get a G-bomb and I kind of feel bad that I'm not really upgrading as much as I should since I am in a main market mall and I'm the only one who does not have a main market size. So if I used these neopoints, I would get closer to main market size. It seems like in both situations, I am either satisfying my personal intent or satisfying someone's intentions of me. I guess the question is, "Do you think that I should use my neopoints for upgrades or buy the item I so long to have all of this time?" To those that have or had a mystery island hut positioning located on the upper right side with a shop size of 460-493, my question for you guys is, "Do you think a dramatic increased of sales has occurred when you jumped to this hut location?" frankly, I would upgrade. I presume when you were let into a main market mall it was with the presumption that you would upgrade to main as soon as possible...and you are way way way undersized. and, honestly - if you don't intend to battle with it there's really no giant rush to get a gbomb.

Or maybe if you just want to have a play with a g-bomb a bit but aren't a serious battler you could buy one and have a play with it for a week or so and then sell it on as they are fairly ets. You could look at it as postponing your upgrades temporarily since it is ETS! I'd suggest upgrading... it's NP better used in creating more NP. With which you could buy your battledome weapons without sacrificing on the needs of your mall. They've been 'carrying' you thus far. As Demirep77 said, you've likely been accepted into the mall on the assumption that you'd upgrade to their requirements. I've been in my mall long enough to notice the large difference in hits and sales from members that don't have decent hut positions. It's not really fair that they should miss out on having someone produce the same benefit for them that they provide for you. But saying all that, it's really your choice. You do whichever makes you happiest. I'm not one to get upset over things like this... even if it's something I pay attention to.

to be honest upgrading probably wont bring much benefits however since you're in a main mall, you should upgrade to indicate you're working towards main

Thank you for the replies. If I buy the G-bomb, I will probably keep the G-bomb until it retires and once its price skyrocket either to a triple profit or quadruple profit. So I don't think I'll get my neopoints back by then which I would assume it will take around 2-3 years for it to retire. Now with that said, my mall owner does not expect me to upgrade fast. I only joined my mall 2-3 months ago and she initially told me to take my time upgrading and that she would not kick me out as long as I follow the mall rules and stay with them as long as possible. All of which are I am already doing and expect to do. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that if its not mandatory to upgrade, would it be beneficial for me to use these neopoints to reach the size of 475? Would I gain my neopoints back within 2 months time (the time I started collected 7.35M)? I know most of you have reached that hut positioning before (mystery island, right upper hand corner). So please let me know your thoughts of that because your answers could be a vital reason of why I should or shouldn't upgrade to that hut area right now.

Hey sweets, Im around the size your thinking of upgrading to and in the top right corner. I copy the breakdown of my neomaller hits and save them in excel so I can see hit trends. These are my hits for my hut for the 1st week of sept from the 1st to the 7th (8, 6, 1, 1, 2, 5, 5) So i average ~5 hits a day. I think my personal banners are good enough to attract hits, so I hopefully thats not a limiting factor. The numbers could be a little skewed b/c 2 of my banners below my mall ad, also serve as links to places on neo like neocola and the cooking pot, so maybe a hit or 2 are from that. Ill admit hits would probably be higher if I was better able to maintain the top of my hut, but since Im upgrading with pretty much all extra np I dont have left over to fight for the top. So many of those days I was mid hut or worse. So basically if your basing it on traffic alone its not worth it. Usually the main reason to upgrade to this level is so your among shops your size or greater which you already are. My personal thinking is that perhaps it might be a nice gesture to return the favor to your main market shops by bringing in a couple extra hits. Also I understand just wanting an item so thats makes sense but you still seem in limbo about it. So, if its an investment, Im not sure I would count on that. I think ghostkersword retired around 4- 5 yrs ago. I dont know much about investing at that level, but I think TNT tries harder to prevent us from becoming instant super millionaires so Im not sure a weapon of that caliber would retire from the tower again soon.
