Should I change categories?

I am thinking about changing categories from grooming/wearables (I don't see the appeal of this category anymore: I don't have *too* much time to stock, and malling in general isn't pulling in too many neopoints for me) to avatar items/packrat. I was just wondering if this was a good idea. Anybody who deals with this category (avatar items/packrat) please give me some advice! Thanks! ~Nioe

If you are looking to earn even less nps from malling then go for the switch, i'm sure that category would be quite crap ;) Although it is important to enjoy what you are stocking, so if thats what you will enjoy you can make it work. ___________ Kirsty, aka evil super mod Sniper, maller, restocker Silverdragon siggy stealer Best wearables shop owner ever!

Yeah avatar items is like blehh. Maybe you can ask your mall leader to drop grooming?

I really enjoyed stocking avatar items, but the profits were pretty awful. The Portal didn't exist at the time, but I'm pretty sure I was actually losing nps because of the NB Fees, and that was before the NB became insanely crowded.

Its not the worst category (you'd probably be better off with bakery than avatars) but eventually you'll get tired of the crappy profits, then you'll find yourself in the same situation again. Its very tricky being a mall leader not happy in your current category, because I'd imagine you don't want to close the mall, and it would be a *tad* awkward and unprofessional to kick someone out of your mall because you want their category :P good luck, hopefully things get sorted out eventually :P
Yeah avatar items is like blehh. Maybe you can ask your mall leader to drop grooming?
Actually, since the bonju craze, my avatar item sales have picked quite up a bit... not amazingly so, but still a tad above blehh. ;) Stocking for packrat though... I used to stock 1000np and under deals... it was VERY time consuming :(

Try something like wearables and you'll be like "Wowerz" I know i was stuck with paintbrushes and thought it was good. Then kirsty came along. and convinced me to do wearables. I'm never going back. It's that good lol.

No, you shouldn't. Wearables are easy to sell and very profitable. I would re-evaluate why your sales are going poorly. It's likely that a category switch would give you the same problem.

Well your shop size is only 100, and most of your items sell for under 100 np on the one third of a page of stock you have. No wonder you aren't doing well. You really need to expand, a lot, for a category of clothing, grooming AND wearables and get some more expensive stock in the shop to start making some profit.

Size 100 isnt gonna get good sales no matter what you do. Wearables might be the best since they inflate/deflate all the time and even small shop sizes can ride on the market waves to earn profit
