Training Help?

I recently traded my awfully named draik day draik (draikity33333) for a grey grundo named K0, and I figured with a name like that I simply have to make him a BD pet :P I was wondering, what are the quickest or cheapest ways to train him? I'm thinking of zapping him once he reaches level 50 (I heard this is when the lab ray will stop making him go back down to level 1) is this wise? I'm a complete noob in the BD :P Thanks :)

Ouch looks like weapons are going to be more expensive than I thought. I'm talking about a while down the line that I start my BD set (once my pet has better stats), so I'll probably have around 20-30M to spare, would this be a reasonable sum? And while I'd like him to be a grundo, I can easily morph him, grey grundos aren't my dream pet. and derimep, I'm planning to focus more on 2 player (thats the one where you play against other neopians, right?). Thanks very very much for everyones help, I really appreciate it :) I would be terrified to ask these questions in BDC, many of the people there seem really mean and obnoxious, and ready to flame anyone weaker :P

Yeah, the BD Chat is kind of full of obnoxious asshats. For 2-player you do need to be prepared to spend a LOT of coin on your set in the long run. It's not uncommon at all for people to have sets worth 100m+. My paltry 80m set is considered sub-par. The hardest icon to block is fire. Ftab barely touches it, and Gshield is totally vulnerable to it. And since Ftab and Gshield are the two most common shields in the game (most everybody has one or the other or both) fire can be one of your bffs. You could get a portable kiln for about 2.6m. The second hardest to block icons are air and light. That's why people love PCC's so much. The immediate step below PCC is Wand of Reality (about 3m last I checked). WOR does the exact same icons as PCC does, just less of them. The most common icons that you will have tossed at you are air and light, because there are so many PCC's out there. I used to really love Dusty Magic Broom (and it's big brother the Air Faerie Crown) for this reason. DMB should be under 2m and AFC should be under 3 (or at least last I checked). Downsize! is dirt cheap and invaluable. You want one of these. I would suggest: Species Healer (Elephante Unguent and Kacheek Life Potion are both under 150k I think) Downsize! Wand of Reality Wand of Reality Portable Kiln Dusty Magic Broom 100% Freezer (H4000 Helmet is cheapest, at just over 7m) Honey Potion Then gradually start saving up to upgrade every thing on the above list. Downsize should eventually become Ftab. That is your first priority. The 2x WOR +PKILN should eventually become any combination of GFD, PCC, SOS, Trident. 2x PCC is nice, as is 2x GFD if you like a gamble. Never ever ever have 2x SoS or 2x Trident as that is just suicide (Ftab blocks all water, Gshield blocks all dark) The DMB I would eventually upgrade to a Ring of the Lost, as the introduction of the Trident has made SoS a popular constant once again. Honey Potion eventually needs to become Ghostkerbomb.

I don't mean to be difficult but much of this reads like a secret coded message. One has to remember that to be the most helpful to the most people you can't use lingo or abbreviations. I am truly awed by the expert advice but can't decipher some of the lingo. This set of guides is very helpful... http://www.neopets.com/~SkeeterGurl _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc

PCC = Pirate Captains Cutlass LEV = Leaded Elemental Vial BOHD = Bag of Healing Dust Gshield = Ghostkershield Ftab = Faerie Tabard SOS = Sword of Skardsen I believe those are the only shortforms I used where I didn't include the full name somewhere in the post.

wow I can think of much better ways to spend 80M+ (shop upgrades FTW :O), I don't think the BD is for me :P I'm still going to train him though (until it starts getting really expensive), then if I ever decide to trade him, I should get some pretty decent offers. Thanks very much for the advice :)

Just complete morons who like to get themselves frozen every week like to hang out on the bd chat these days. As for cost, you shouldn't worry about it, you can build a set up as suggested above without putting serious effort in. You just slowly work on upgrading stuff. Although i've always preferred 1p battling myself since then if your sets lacking in some areas you aren't commiting suicide by doing a few battles. ___________ Kirsty, aka evil super mod Sniper, maller, restocker Silverdragon siggy stealer Best wearables shop owner ever!

as a BD chatter I can say with authority that 90% of BD Chatters are total asshats. :)

I had someone attacking all of my posts the other day when I was trying to be nice. You get yelled at for being helpful or at least trying to be in there. Then he goes on to tell me there's the BD Chat and then there's the BDC, and the room is split between people who talk about the battledome and people who are the battledome. Is there really this difference or was he just being an uber asshole?

Oh, he was just being an asshat. Which is what most people do in there. The rules so far as I can tell are as follows: ;) - never call it the BDC or the universe will blow up - avatars are for losers - only spam and posts about buying/selling stuff are acceptable on the bd chat - most of those morons don't actually battle I pretty much just stick to my guild's boards on there, only venturing out to be helpful on occasion, or to drop a big sarcasm-bomb on some obnoxious teenage boy who is being a jerk to people for no reason.
