Hits question

Alright. I have two spots I'm always in the red - shop wizard prices and noticeboard ad hits. I'm not concerned about the NB ad hits - some participate much more than me. I am curious though, on the top 30 shops, how I am SOOO far behind on SW hits. The vast majority of us in the top 30 are MM shops so you'd think we would all be around the same in the SW department. Yet, I am a good 50-70% in the red in this section, depending on the day. Do you think it's worth it to up the amount in my shop that's SW priced? I really don't feel like doing that because I'm incredibly lazy and terrible, but all that redness annoys me to bits.

Today, I'm only about 20 hits behind, but I sold a ton of SDB stuff so it doesn't really count.

Im at 50 today but yeah, i'm usually deep in the red for sw hits. And no sw hits are not worth it unless you want to price a couple to draw in visitors. Most of my shop wiz hits are from stuff inflated. so 50 means probably 50 items inflated lol. But then again, there's also those who bookmark my shop via the shop wiz and when they return, it'll get counted as SW hits if their bookmark includes the SW obj link in the url

I'm almost always in the red on sw hits too :P I think it's because a few select main mallers, my malls petpet shop inclusive, wiz price insanely. Im always in the green but I price my items by the SSW and I dont overprice at all

I am not a huge shop like yours, so I have to be more competitive to get the traffic. I get very few hits from my mall. Most hits come from the SW and about 15% from bookmarks. I think if you are satisfied with the amount of sales and traffic you have then you don't need to reprice. IF you reprice more items to be competitive on the SW then you should be picking up a lot of new traffic. But that would translate to more sales and more restocking...

I'm talking about the top 30 shops, not everyone else's smaller shops - I understand the theory of wiz prices there. Obviously the top 30 shops are all big shops like mine :P Thanks dmitri and kirsty :)

I ended up having RL commitments that cut my time down to one day a weekend. Secondly, assumptions are the mother of all f-ups. Don't assume just because someone has a "smaller" shop, they cant be in the "Top 30". That in itself DEMANDS an apology. Sorry D, but that isn't even right, way too f'n elitist.

Yea im usually surprised to see how high the ssw # can be on top 30 :P I price a couple things *close* to ssw and 1 item pretty much AT ssw (main codestones). Sometimes people come in through the main codestone and then buy a couple more. Overall, not a huge effect on sales... except for 1 day, a week ago? One person came in through the main codestone and bought out ALLLL my codestones (about 400 of them, all priced about 40% over ssw :P) That made it ALL worth it :D

The point Kara is making (I think) is the people who are in the top 30 everyday without having to be there from wiz hits alone.
